Rope smelled like it had been soaked in gasoline
Joshua Miller✓ Verified Purchase•February 12, 2018
Rope smelled like it had been soaked in gasoline. Tired washing it multiple times to get it out, eventually bound it around my balcony to air out over the course of a month and lots of rain/wind. Was unusable for my initial plan due to the smell. The other rope I ordered at the same time/ product listing arrived as expected without smelling of gas. I suspect quality control issues and will not roll the dice again.
Cover up that exposed hot pipe.

I bought a 25' length of 1/4 inch rope and realized it was not enough for the project so I bought the 100' length. The 100' length was fine but the 25' had a strong chemical odor. FYI if you are using this to wrap exposed pipes you need about 25' of rope per foot of pipe you want to cover(give or take depending on the diameter of the pipe). This picture shows 100 feet of rope which only covers the bottom half of the pipe.
Was perfect for what I needed it for

Was perfect for what I needed it for. It had a very powerful smell, possibly a oil to keep it from drying out. I just layed it out for a few days. You could still smell it but not unbearable. I was happy with what the end result was.
This rope is wonderful in my DIY projects

I've been having so much fun with little DIY projects using this manila rope. I have used it to re-purpose jars, tins and even cardboard bath tissue rolls.
This is a heavy duty rope twisted with several strands intertwined together. Some of my projects require the full strand, but I have pulled the strands apart for my smaller containers. It is on the rougher side, so it lends a very rustic look to my crafts. It is also good and sturdy for using it for it's intended purpose - to tie things together or secure things tightly.
I like the idea of being able to use containers I already have to help me organize and store items. Rope is the new trend now and it makes my containers so much more attractive.
