LOVE this! used to use a rotary cutter + mat but this has been a game changer. i can cut on any surface with much less shoulder/wrist pain. it's not faster than old school cutting - because you have to pin the pattern instead of using paper weights. but it's much less physically demanding. this is quieter and easier to use than the hand held version (which is louder and kicks when you turn it on!)
ONLY drawbacks are:
-cord is way too short
-the safety guard comes down too low. it has to be up when this is in use. in which case, why even have it?
-4 plies of 420gm weight fabric was only about 0.5" tall and seemed to be a challenge for the blade. fabric would get caught often. whatever i'd buy it again (with a longer cord and in black)

I bought this machine and received it pretty fast. LED light didnt worked... I returned and bought ANOTHER one... same issue, LED light wasnt working and this one came with the plastic blade guard broken... the actual machine is fine, but you might get a defective cutter. Amazon told me to stop buying, to buy somewhere else and that they were gonna remove this listing because they keep sending a defective product... not sure why it's still up.

item as described, wish i found this sooner. cuts through jeans as if it was butter. Pre-caution of future owners... be very aware when using this product, the blade guard sometimes must be lift up to cut thick material therefore blade is exposed and extremely sharp
