This wheel is the best! It is larger than the all metal one I had but oh my goodness it is awesome! My old wheel (not a chin spin) was so noisy and actually breaking the side of my critter nation cage.. any by noisy I mean when the chinchilla jumped off it was so loud it actually was quite jarring if you were standing near the cage....anyhow, this one is so quite that all I can hear is my chins tiny feet on the metal..saved me from some serious headaches! This chin spin although heavier seems to be better supported by the braces so it's not tearing up my cage...so all in all this thing is awesome!

Our chinchilla, Gracie, LOVES this thing:-) It took her 2 to 3 weeks to figure out how to use it, but now she absolutely loves it. She runs on it over and over at night, then sleeps next to it during the day. If she gets frightened, she jumps on it and waits to see if she needs to run away from whatever startled her. Also since we got this wheel, Gracie doesn't repetitively chew and shake her cage bars. I think she gets all the exercise she needs by running:-) We've made our little chin very happy:-)

I was hesitant to get this wheel both for the price and for the fact that this is the 4th wheel I've tried in the past 2 years. Before I had a 12" wheel when my chinchilla was smaller, and once he was full grown I could tell he was having a harder time using his wheel. He used to just hop, now he can actually RUN in this 15" wheel. Never again will he have to use such a small wheel. Heres a pic to show size comparison to him.

A very (mostly) QUIET wheel

If you want a chinchilla wheel, this seems to be the best one out there. Other reviewers have commented on most of its features, but I want to focus specifically on NOISE. That was a big factor when I bought mine (because my chin cage is next to my bed), but few other reviews mention the noise level. This wheel is very QUIET, with two caveats:
{1} It attaches to your cage, so if your cage is noisy, the wheel becomes "noisy" by making your cage rattle.
{2} If you have a hyper chinchilla that runs REALLY fast, the wheel can be a little loud. Imagine the sound of someone tapping their fingers on a metal saucepan (chinchilla feet on metal) plus the sound of someone tapping their foot while wearing shoe (the wheel bobbing up and down).
Despite those caveats, the wheel doesn't CLANG and it doesn't SQUEAK. That's what really matters, so if you're willing to pay the ridiculous price of this wheel, do it.

Awesome wheel for my chinchilla. Plenty of room so he doesn't hurt his spine. Spins easily. He loves it.
