My 3 year old grandson was having his tonsils and adenoids out, so I thought this would be something good to get him to drink. since he has 2 brothers, I ordered 3 in different colors. I was concerned when I received the confirmation email and the red one didn't look like it was the slush maker. I quickly called Amazon and CS cancelled that order and I reordered another one. The confirmation email again showed an infuser, not the slush maker. When I contacted CS again, we decided to take our chances and see what I received. Fortunately, it was the slush maker. I am saying all of this in case they have not fixed this and anyone tried to order a red one. Don't be put off by the email!
It turned out the 3 year old didn't like cold on his throat, but his 7 year old brother had surgery to remove a bone tumor 8 days later. He and I have been making slushes using Gatorade. He has really enjoyed it, but wants me to do all of the scraping! I also suggest that you have 2 per child since it needs to freeze for 6 - 18 hours for best results. He didn't always want more while it was still cold enough to freeze still, but by the time he did want more, it hadn't been freezing long enough. Since his brothers weren't home then, we used a second one to be able to have one ready to go at all times. Not sure how this is going to work when his brothers are around!
We have only used the Gatorade. I'm curious about using it to make a shake. Will have to try that next. I didn't order the cookbook, but the instructions indicate there are recipes on their website.

We got the 10ounce cup and it doesn't fit a full soda but my kids love how quickly and easily it turns drinks into slushies. My first outer cup came cracked but amazing promptly send a replacement. We just keep the inner cup in the freezer so it's always ready to go
