I haven't installed it yet but I do have it put together like I want it! I wish I would have got something in the same product 3/8 - 1/2 inch thick because I really don' know if this is going to hold up! It's my fault for buying this in the 1/4 inch thickness which may or may not work. This company likes people like me! lol............ but the product itself seems to be very well put together.
Works well for outdoor lighting.

Used this stuff to trace and cut out some custom gaskets to put behind some outdoor lighting. The foam compressed as we screwed them into the walls, but it left a nice tight seal around it to keep out any rain water, bugs, or leaves and debris. Worked well, and easy to cut with scissors or an utility knife.

Used clear vinyl adhesive to glue Velcro strips on this neoprene, making shin guards for my Mocycl.com/ The 1/4" neoprene makes an excellent cushion, and gives me the false-courage I need to take my Mocycl to it's mechanical limits without fear of getting whacked by the foot boards on rebound. You can see the neoprene shin guards and dims. on vintagetwin.com. Look under Mocycl.
Works great with Alesis electric drums
TIMMY!!✓ Verified Purchase•June 10, 2023
I bought an Alesis DM10X electric drum kit for home use to improve my playing since it is a hassle to get to my church and practice on my acoustic Pearl's. However, I did not like the fact I was basically playing on an aluminum reflector plate instead of something with some give (it is a fairly thin aluminum plate that transfers the vibrations to replicate the sounds, but it is solid and HARD!). I went to the Alesis drum forum and a great edrum guru there recommended this product, and it fits the bill perfectly. Once you cut this foam to size and replace the cheap, thin Alesis foam with this foam, it is darn near like playing a real acoustic drum, with great rebound and feel.
I also went the mesh head route on my snare and bass pad as the edrum guru mentioned, and that is even better. But for the time being and with little money to work with, our guru is correct that that is the quickest way to get a near perfect acoustic feel on an Alesis electric kit.

It's foam.

I needed some foam material to soften some edges under a hospital bed mattress. This was easily cut to size to fit what I needed.
There is an odor when you first unwrap it- I would suggest letting it air out for a day or two if possible before using it. Hanging it from a clothesline would be ideal.
Also, looking at the image, you're only getting 54 inches (in length) there's not going to be a cardboard tube in like in the photo- it's just tightly wrapped around itself so don't expect to see that.
Seems to be holding up nicely, would buy again if I needed more.
