Great fob protector
Blue Topaz•August 20, 2017
This little case is well designed and well made. It is small and easy to carry in a purse. I use it for my car's key fob. I have tested it out and have not been able to open the car or start it with the key fob in the bag. I would probably prefer a velcro closure as it is a bit of a pain to get the flap under the elastic, but I can live with it as it functions as it is meant to. It is far better than carrying pieces of aluminum foil around!
Blown away by effectiveness and price of this product.

I am incredibly impressed. I have used faraday bags for years in a law enforcement capacity and they were very expensive so I had my doubts about how well this product would work. I needed a way to leave my Lexus key fob in a lockbox outside of the vehicle but due to the proximity sensor there was no way to keep the doors from being easily opened. I placed the key fob in this bag, placed it in lockbox, and the problem was immediately solved. I highly recommend.
Farady bag instantly solved my problem.

I like to keep a spare key in the vehicle, which is an impossibility in a vehicle with Ford's Intelligent Access / Push button start features. Ford senses the presence of the key left behind. The faraday bag successfully hides the key - problem solved. I really like simple.
The bag is barely big enough for the fat key fob, and I did have to take the few other keys off the ring to get it to fit.

Great protection for your car's key fob!

We ordered several of these after hearing about what seems to be successful 'hacking' of three separate automobile key fobs near our home. The cars were parked on a residential street, in front of their respective homes, and all three were locked. Somehow, these cars were unlocked and ransacked by thieves. The signals from the fobs may have been intercepted and then used to open the locked cars. WARNING -- the range of your fob may be much greater than you think! Our detached garage is at least 50 feet away from where we store our keys inside our home. I was sure the fob's range was shorter than that. I was wrong. In fact, the fob worked perfectly from any point in our home -- the furthest being at least 75 feet from the garaged car. These Mission Darkness Faraday Bags block the fob's signal perfectly, making interception difficult. Plus these bags are lightweight and very easy to use. I highly recommend them.
Bag was effective initially, but after two months it stopped blocking the signal.

Update: I've had this bag for just over two months. Unfortunately, it just stopped blocking the signal, so I lowered my initial rating from five stars to three. I contacted customer service--who were excellent, and my reason for not rating this bag even lower--and they promptly refunded my money. They explained that the bag may have had a defect and over time abrasion could cause the defect to worsen and stop blocking the signal. I may yet try again and buy another one. Bottom line: quality control could be an issue. Good to check bag's effectiveness periodically if you do buy one. At least, you can count on customer service to remedy any problem promptly, so no risk to you for trying one out. What follows below is my initial review:
This product really works. I put my key fob in the bag and closed it. Approached my car. I could not unlock my car--even pressing the key fob while it was in the bag did not unlock the car.
At $30, I thought this Faraday bag was a bit expensive, but when I saw the price drop to $18, I jumped on it.
My main (probably paranoid, I know) concern is that someone might try to clone my key fob while exiting my car in a parking lot. Saw this on the news. So now I just have to remember to put my key in the bag before getting out of my car. Somewhat annoying, but I guess that's the price of good security.
