These super bright flashlight(s) [I purchased the two (2) pack] are everything they were described as. I've seen some of the negative reviews & w/o comparing apples to oranges, OR a Yuri to a Rolls Royce, which would be preposterous. Sure there other manufactures with a "better" product but,for the $$ value these work quite well. Everything advertised from the telescoping to the clarity of the beam,were (ARE) better than I'd hoped for. The features: telescoping beam, narrow to wide, provide just that and the distance at which they shine is well over 150-200 yards. The strobe is even MORE visible, at long distances, yet close up is blinding! Also, I'd be remiss by not mentioning the "attack head". This feature could be for what it describes, although a friend of mine mentioned that because we live in an area of our state (Minnesota) that sees a lot of snowfall as well as our 10,000 lakes, frozen in the Winter & have either known of a person or persons whom have experienced the dreaded occasional slide off the road & finding themselves in said frozen lake! The attack head comes in quite handy to break a window from inside the vehicle. My friend and I put it to the test on an old junked car of his dad's, & sure enough the test was successful! The window popped right out, leaving the (imagined in our test) passenger free to get to the surface, or be rescued. Besides all of that, the only observation I noticed was during the 3 AAA batteries insertion, on the manufactures directions the method was to insert all batteries with the "positive" ends pointed facing towards the light end of the flashlight, when in fact (after 4 or 5 tries) did I realize that at least one of them needed to be pointed AWAY from the lightbulb end. In closing, I'd rate these (for the money), these are a good value. Amazons' choice was the 3 pack which even though it's a better deal, 2 has sufficed for myself. One at home, the other in my backpack & transferred to my glovebox when traveling. I suppose a third one permanently in the car would work in the future, but for now I'm satisfied with my purchase. PS: be careful when you're tightening the cap on the end, they're small, so don't cross thread!! Have fun! PEACE!! Coz...

The good:

These are very bright, strong, lightweight. The ability to adjust the light is great and comes in useful often.

The bad:

I've purchased these three times in 2-packs. One of the 2-packs was a present for a relative. The other one I've kept for myself. One of the one in the latest purchase would not properly turn off. At times I could get it to turn off, but then within a few minutes, I noticed the LED was on, though somewhat dim. When it first happened, I swapped out the batteries (even though I was sure the batteries were new when I put them in). This did not fix the problem.

I really like these lights. I have multiple of these from different vendors, but they are pretty much the same lamp. They are bright and rugged. I ordered a 3 pack from Mikafen to add to my collection. They lived up to my expectations in brightness and features. One of the three was defective and I reached out to Mikafen this evening. They responded immediately and have informed me that it will be replaced. Outstanding Customer service!

UPDATE: I received the replacement product. It came really quick. The products received worked very well and we're exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

Maybe we have defective ones. They are bright, and they do work, but they get hot in the hands and they also have very loose fronts that are a lot different then the other cree lights that look the same.

Not dissapointed, but not to crazy either.

**Update 11/07/2017** Mikafen contacted us after reading our initial 2* review and offered replacement flashlights. While the customer service was nice, the flashlights they sent to replace our units still were loose. This seems to just be how they are manufactured. The newer flashlights don't have the overheating issue.

Gave a star back because of prompt customer service. Could easily be 4 stars also.

This flashlight is priced lower than many. I should have guessed why. A flashlight that advertises specifications that does not have the performance to sustain the claims is not worth anything at any price. I have the authentic CREE product next to this MIKAFEN branded wannabe and I can tell you that the beam of MIKAFEN Amazon sponsored flashlight has either been misrepresented, not an actual CREE T6 LED, or both.

I ranked the MIKAFEN Amazon flashlight with two stars. One star is the default and for that star, it does turn on and illuminate the LED, while the various functions of flashing etc. work. The additional was given star is because it is usable as a flashlight. It can provide adequate light for my purposes in close areas where I need illumination. I did NOT provide a star for color, as it is a 10,000K output (depending upon location of the beam), but more yellow than the genuine product as measured as well as visually noted. Another star was NOT awarded due to the lower brightness than expected for the claimed T6 CREE LED. The 5th star was NOT awarded was overall packaging and condition. The packaging contained two units. The seals were not secure, maybe previously opened, while the boxes had crimped edges from being likely smashed during handling? The lens assembly was unscrewed, and this is supposed to remain intact. There was a battery holder installed, but no adapter tube for the 18650 battery (not supplied) as listed on the contents.

The Amazon logo name appears below the MIKAFEN logo. This product may not have been fully investigated by Amazon, or the manufacturer in China could have slipped in an alternate circuit or LED for the production run.

The light emitted is a dimmer, and definitely more yellowish color than the authentic CREE T6 that I used for comparison, same size and shape case sold under the UltraFire brand label. So then I conducted a bit more scientific examination than simply my eyesight and opinion. The same battery was used in both units to be fair. My light meter measured 40% less light on average from multiple readings 4' in distance (the distance to reach the advertized 600 Lumens for the MIKAFEN Amazon vs. the 1,100 Lumens @ 4' for the UltraFire), and the difference was similar testing up to 25' in distance.

If you are going to need an excellent flashlight worth paying several dollars for, do not be stuck with second best. I will keep this in the glovebox and use the real product for every day use.
