Used many times.

I've used this product many times and really like it. I've read some of the negative reviews. I don't know what some of the reviewers expected. It's exactly what it's purported to be, and when applied carefully to avoid air bubbles, and lines are kept straight, it's very attractive. My house is old, with no back splash behind stove and sink. Rather than doing an expensive tile job, I used it and surrounded with moulding to give it a finished look. Cleans nicely with a damp cloth. I've had many compliments, with surprised reactions as to what a simple and good looking solution. Sometimes it's the effort, not the product. With regard to odor, maybe there's some, but if so I didn't notice it.
Looks and works as advertised

This contact paper looks and works as advertised. Note that covering things perfectly smoothly is a bit tricky but doable; take your time and slowly unstick the paper from the backing and "squeegee" out any air bubbles.
SO STUNNING!!!

BUY IT!! I was struggling so much with making this place feel like home and these counter stickers just made me feel so much more comfortable and in love with our space. They were a little hard to put on, but you just have to be patient. Do not rush it or it will have bubbles! Be careful around the sink with the water. Ultimately would buy these again in the future and recommend them! I would just wipe it with my normal multi-purpose cleaner as well and saw no damage!
Very satisfied

I bought this to cover a night table that was made in the wrong color (very yellowish if you look at the drawer at the bottom of this picture which wasn't covered yet), so I bought this to cover it and I absolutely love it. It is easy to stick, cut, and manipulate. I also have had cold drinks without a coaster on it, and I can wipe the water easily. It doesn't leave a mark. I'm happy with this purchase!
Fantastic for temp. countertop, and used a clear film on top for added protection.......

I am very, very pleased with the end result for covering my ugly '70s Formica countertop. The wood grain print is very realistic, as good as a Formica equivalent. I have had it on for about 1-1/2 months, and it has surpassed my expectations. It even survived my Thanksgiving cooking and baking! When I had to make a big prepping mess, I just laid a few pieces of newspaper on top of the counter first.

Of course, you can only apply vinyl films like this to a clean, dry, smooth surface. Don't try it on bare wood, particle board, or anything porous, because it won't stick, and wasn't designed to do so. It would be like putting scotch tape on a brick and expecting it to stick. Use common sense. And read the directions first.

Here's what worked for me: Clean the Formica countertop first with warm, soapy water followed by a wiping down with rubbing alcohol. There has to be no grease and no crumbs or debris. Let dry thoroughly. Apply the vinyl film with the squeegee provided, and/or a pliable decal squeegee. Begin by unrolling from one end very slowly, flattening with squeegee immediately using short, quick strokes, pushing the air out as you go. And go very slowly. Keep the unstuck portion rolled under and out of the way until you get to it. Prick air bubbles with a pin and squeeze air out. Trim edges with a razor blade. (I did not roll the vinyl under the countertop's vertical trim edge, but shaved it even with the bottom, with no adhesion issues.) If using a clear vinyl over top of the D-C Fix, you can trim the bottom edge individually or together. It's just a little more resistant to trim through 2 layers, that's all. Hold the razor blade parallel to the countertop work surface.

I topped my D-C Fix with a different matte clear self-adhesive vinyl paper for extra protection (from Amazon) since I was putting it in a high use area. (I wrote a review for that, too.) I applied the top layer very slowly, sometimes a linear inch at a time, the same way, to avoid air bubbles. I held the top vinyl close down to the countertop as I unrolled it. Don't hold either product high up as you unroll it, or you will get many air bubbles.

I used a good quality, clear silicone caulk very sparingly around the sink and next to the wall, later. Everything is adhering great. Do use potholders and silicone hot pads. Put something heat proof under the microwave. Use felt on feet of countertop items. Don't drag anything rough over the surface. I clean the film with a damp cloth or paper towel with a bit of sanitizing product sprayed on the cloth first. I have had no lifting of seams.

I have used D-C Fix before, on lots of windows, and was extremely pleased with its adherence and removal. It left virtually no residue, at least on a vertical application. I would definitely buy again.
