School started and the kids needed locks for their bikes.
We tried key and lock combo, but after the second time our son left his key at home and having to drive to school to pick up the bike, we decided to purchase the combo locks.
These are nice and compact and they seem to do well with smaller hands with less dexterity.
The 4 number combo is easy to change to the desired lock code.
The cable is the right length for the school bike rack, but I can see this being an issue for larger bikes and bike racks, so may upgrade in the future.
As others have mentioned, the metal key portion of the lock that goes into the tumbler looks rather thin and if a thief is determined enough, these don't look super sturdy. But as for a visual deterrent in an elementary school environment in the suburbs, it'll do.

I use these locks to secure gates on our property and for the most part, they work fine. I will say however, that they could be a little more sturdy. The lock mechanism is a little bit loose and feels like if I worked at it hard enough, I could probably rip it apart or at the very least hit it with something and get it to separate. But, that's not really what these are for...more like a temporary deterrent, and for that, they will work just fine.

This bike lock is great. Easy to set the comb and easy to use. Strong as you would be looking for. I returned it only because it was too short to use for the spare tire on my boat trailer. Just be cautious of the length you will need when purchasing.
