Fits in middle where a booster won't

I bought this because I was having a difficult time fitting a third child passenger between my two five point harness seats in the back of my small SUV. I have a Ford Escape and two Diono Radian seats that are permanently in my car, but occasionally I needed to fit a third child over the age of 4. I had a hard time with even the narrowest of booster seats, such as the Costco one shown in the pictures. I could sort of technically fit a full booster if I pushed both radians out towards the edges, but then none of the three seats were attached in a way I felt was safe. The MiFold fits between the two seats if on the first or second width settings (the third is a bit too wide). My 52 lb six year old sits comfortably with the MiFold on a setting 1 and 2 (asymmetrical). In my particular car, my 6 year old's legs are able to reach the edge of the seat nearly perfectly with the MiFold, so I am not concerned about her slouching forward like other reviewers have suggested. If you have a very deep seat on the car, this could perhaps be a concern. The only reason I gave four stars instead of 5 is that the unit I was shipped was one year old according to the manufacture date, so I have essentially lost a year of use out of the device. Might not be an issue if both of my kids outgrow it in less than 7 years, but it would have been nice to have been shipped a product that was more newly manufactured.
Grab it and go for reals

It's super small so fitting it in the car next to two other car seats is perfect rather than her big bulky high back booster. I felt like the seat belt sat more snuggly on her and stayed over her shoulder where it should be as well. I have issues with her regular booster and her leaning so the belt moves off her shoulder. This would also be great for having to switch between cars if they go top visit Granny, etc. I could definitely see this being great for older kids so they don't feel like a baby in a booster seat. The only issue l could see was with her legs. If she was any shorter they would hang awkwardly off the edge of the seat. I'd just be worried she'd try to slide forward to get the bend in her legs over the edge and also know she can't see out the window but maybe that'll help her not get car sick.
A great purchase for our recent vacation!

Bought this last week because we were taking a trip to Atlanta. We were visiting my little sister, but I anticipated there may be times when she would be busy and we'd have to catch an Uber. Lugging around a booster chair to places like the zoo just didn't seem like a legit solution, but my son just turned four, is 43 inches tall and 43lbs, so I didn't want to go without a carseat. This was small enough to put in his backpack for the flight (we fly Spirit and use only one personal item sides bag each, so small was a must), and in my purse while we jetted around Atlanta. It was super fast to set up in the cars, and he was very secure. It really is such a smart design. Rather than boost the child up, it simply holds the seatbelt down so that it falls correctly on the lap. There's even a strap to help keep the shoulder strap from riding up into their neck. When we were ready to hop out of the car, it was a cinch to grab and go. I've even, already, had an occasion to use in now that were back home. We dropped my husband off at work coming back from the airport this morning and my big sister helped out by picking my son and I up from his work. She has two kids of her own and there was no third carseat. Not a problem since we could grab the miffed from my son's backpack. So thrilled with our purchase and my son loved it. I'll use his regular carseat for day to day travel, but will definitely keep this handy, especially for future trips.
good concept, some issue

bought this for the trip. It's good as it's very portable, but 2 main issues for my 7 yo to use.
1. this might be "cogenital". It's too low for the sitting position. My 7 yo sit on that, and she could not see anything outside the window, made the 5 hr trip very boring for her
2. this might be an indeed safety concern. When the child sitting on it changing position, the back piece might move up to the seat back, making the booster seat as "L" shape, by doing so, the seat belt will move up to child's neck position from shoulder. I would suggest to have some kind of clip to keep the bottom 2 pieces flat to prevent it from happening.
Overall, it might be a good alternative for a short drive, but certainly not good for a long haul

This seat is amazing and saves space in two ways:
1. Folded up, it travels easily.
2. In a car, it takes no more space that a booster-less child does, so you can seat three kids in one row.
I always have a couple of mifolds in my car, so I can transport my kids' friends.
This little seat fits between two "regular" booster seats in the third row of my Honda Pilot. Not a single other seat can do this.
