I really like this little guy

I really like this little guy. I put in on my headstock of my 5 string bass, fiddle with the tuners, and am good to go. Don't even have to be plugged in.
It's chromatic so tuning the low B string is no problem. My long necked bass doesn't go out of tune often or much, but still needs to be checked
every time, and this little gizmo speeds up that process considerably...

Love this SNARK tuner ! At first I was looking to purchase a guitar with a built in tuning device, but quickly realized with several guitars that I needed something versatile! This little puppy clips on to any of my guitars and gets the job done. very accurate, and easy to use. Very happy with this purchase
Tuner works great as a standard chromatic tuner but the Hz tuning ...

5 Stars for the ST-8 but only 2.5 stars for the ST-8Hz. Since this review covers both model I'm rating it a 4 overall. The ST-8 is fantastic all the way around. Fast, easy to use, easy to read, accurate. The ST-8Hz uner works great as a standard chromatic (just like the ST-8) tuner but the Hz tuning feature does not work well. It is slow to register and you must use the tuning in sequence. This means that it does not work on a ukulele. I was able to get the tuning to register for the first string (G below middle C) and this was only due to the low G tuning...can't use at all on re-entrant tuning. Returned the ST-8Hz for the ST-8 which works great.
Best Buy!

I love this thing! I got it so that my 8 year old could tune his banjo ukulele. I had an app on my phone I was tuning my guitar with. It is so hyper-sensitive that it was a hassle and now I keep borrowing this tuner from him every time I want to tune my guitar or mandolin. I may just buy myself one! Very happy with this purchase! He can also tune independently already which I wasn't expecting! Bonus!
Nice, but doesn't work on 5 string bass.

I have a cheap fender-branded tuner that keeps eating batteries.
The last time the battery died, I figured I could just buy a new tuner for just a bit more than the price of a new battery.
So I did, and I'm happy with it.
Except for one thing. I forgot about my five string bass with the big fat B string. This turner doesn't really pick that up. Shame there's no other way to tune that one string.
