You are paying a premium for convenience. To me it seems a bit overpriced. If you added up the costs for the parts you are paying full retail. However, if you ordered off the web, you would probably pay near the same amount because you couldn't buy just one or two. You would have a bunch more components , though.The first kit made sense due to you getting started, but once you have the first kit, the second is a bit redundant as many of the parts are reusable. I don't think I will buy the third and source or scavenge those parts myself.
I was disappointed that I only got one green LED and one yellow. To make this a better kit, more redundant parts are needed, especially if the individual parts are untested. You should combine the 2nd and 3rd kits and just add a few extra resistors to cover usage. It would be a better deal for the customer.
Seller replied by sending me a few extra components. They said they are factoring in responses to make the kits better value to the customer. I upped the star rating based upon the dedication to customer service.

The value of this kit is in the time saved in hunting down or purchasing all the items, especially if you are new to the hobby and don't yet understand the terminology etc.
I accidently ordered the incorrect kits and was worried that the my error would not be rectified before shipment, however the response and speed that my issue was resolved in was pleasantly surprising.
The value of the individual items is a fraction of the kits cost but the saving in time is priceless to me. The items are also well labelled, again this will save me time when I start delving into the book and projects.
If you know your way around an electronics store and can tell a resistor from a diode then I would not recommend the kit, but then you're not who this kit is compiled for.
