flippen brilliant.

As a guy with limited kitchen skills this item is flippen brilliant.
I got this because it seemed like it might be healthier to have a mug of tea each evening than the alternative.
I have been taking traditional beer mug filling with water and microwaving until start of a boil (about 3 min)
During that time I put a teaspoon-ish of loose green tea and an equal amount loose hibiscus petal into the apx 17 oz unit.
When water ready pour it from mug into unit.
A few minutes later nearly all the leaf which was floating is now sunk.
Ya lift up the unit and rest it on the same mug which filled it.
Marvel at the fast flow, mess free, filling.
For my taste, nothing else needed just enjoy.
Cleanup can simple as a dump and hot water rinse out.
I think I may buy another for work. This might make a nice gift to others.
I tried tea bags, this seems easier/better and decidedly more fun.

A Required Tool for the Dedicated Tea Drinker

This is the third of my teapots in this style - and I've reached the point where I am reluctant to use the traditional pots: which do not allow you to control the steeping time, and which have a habit of piddling over countertops and tables. This allows you to steep with surgical precision and the container empties from the bottom with no mess and no fuss. You won't see something like this on Masterpiece Theatre, or in a tea shop, but I consider this a required tool for the dedicated tea drinker.
Absolutly no tea leaves in your cup

This is great! We use it every day, no tea leaves have ever slipped through. We have used all kind of tea strainers this is by far the best. I WILL DEFINIATLY PURCHASE THIS AGAIN AN AGAIN. We put out tea in the cup add boiling water let it steep for 10 minutes , set on top of our cup the tea drains down into our cup whala no leaves no spills perfect cup of tea. Buy this you will love it!
Non-existent customer service!

I was excited to try this tea maker after I had problems with another brand starting to leak after a few months of use. However, the filter came loose from the bottom of the unit, and now floats up every time I pour hot water in. And when I try to rinse out the spent leaves, I have to be very careful to catch the metal ball that seals the drain at the bottom. Twice I've had to fish it out of my sink drain (gross!) Since I've only had it for 3 months I figured it should be simple to get a replacement from the company, but I've tried to contact them 5 separate times over the past week, through email, their website, amazon messaging, and phone, and gotten NO RESPONSE. Do not buy!
Great concept; two malfunctioning units, though.

Use this every day, two or three times a day. Easy to clean, easy to use. Allows whole-leaf tea to unfurl and release its goodness.
UPDATE 6/22/17 : The concept is great, but I have now had two units become essentially useless. With the first one, the screen filter became dislodged, causing it to float freely as soon as hot water was added to the unit. Obviously, when it does this the leaves can drip out into your mug when placed over it for dispensing.
I contacted the rep from the company, and he provided both a prompt response and a replacement unit, thinking I must have had a faulty one.
Two days later, the same thing happened to the second one. I have had to create a spacer to keep the screen in place while steeping, but this makes the use of this more difficult than what the unit costs.
The manufacturer / distributor provides excellent service, but without a product that functions as described, this becomes needless. Too bad, as the concept is great, as stated above.
