New particle board shelving does not hold more than 100lbs! Beware of false advertising!
CT✓ Verified Purchase•January 15, 2018
Purchased these shelves before and the quality was excellent! However, now the MDF shelves have been replaced by a cheap particle board. Even placing just 100 lbs on 1 shelf caused the wood to splinter and break causing damage to my inventory. These have now sadly become terrible in quality. The shelves cannot hold the advertised weight. DO NOT BUY. Tried to contact the seller who offered no solutions. Seller is hard of English and does not understand the quality issues brought to light.
CLEAN GARAGE FINALLY!

My husband and I have looked into redoing aka cleaning out garage . We have had the WALL of crates for many years now and we just ignore it and move on. My husband has researched DIY shelves ... plastic shelves.. and metal. I have always objected like a wife does because of the cost to build or purchase any shelving units because I could name a million other things we could spend the money on. He finally found these and order them. It only took him one day and they were up and perfect. They are super sturdy and work perfect. SO any couples that need a garage makeover to store all the junk over the years... these are going to be your best friend!!!
It would be nice if the boards were plywood and not particle board

I purchased this shelf and it arrived today. Upon assembly, a hammer is definitely needed to pound in each end of the shelf to keep the 2 support stud connectors to lock into place. Just moving the shelf on the floor can cause these 2 corner support studs to pop out and allow the shelf to fall. I had noticed on all shelves when weight was put on the boards, the long side front and back of the shelf on the long beam began to bow out. If it bows out about half an inch the board shelf can fall through to the next level below it. I went to buy some $3.50 cargo tie straps and wrapped it around each shelf twice to prevent bowing from happening and it fixed that. It would be nice if the boards were plywood and not particle board. They are able to hold 6 50 pound bags of flour on each shelf with the cargo straps holding the long sides into place against the particle board.
Sturdy frame, but weak shelf boards.

The shelf sawdust boards are very weak, I broke one just by lifting it around. There's no way it can support 200 lbs of items per shelf, it will be broken. The metal frame was hard to assemble due to sloppy manufacturing, nearly impossible to line up correctly without force warping some of them with tools. I recommend buying the type of shelving with metal wire instead. IF you want to use this for heavy items, you'll probably want to replace the sawdust boards with plywood boards, because really once you force the metal frame to assemble, it is pretty sturdy, it just need better boards.
This Muscle rack is built very sturdy, and easy to put together

We ordered this shelving unit after getting two cheap shelving units from Ace. Ace shelves were so badly built we took them back. This Muscle rack is built very sturdy, and easy to put together. We used a rubber mallet to make sure everything is locked into place. Would love more of them to organize our world.
