Minimal nose and tail kicks help navigate city streets and open the door for freestyle trickery.
  • STRONG, LIGHT, & DAMP - Snowboard-inspired composite construction combines vertically laminated bamboo and fiberglass for a durable, lightweight, and lively ride. Cork bottom layer provides vibration damping.
  • PARIS TRUCKS - Paris 180mm, 50° matte black longboard trucks deliver smooth and controlled turning response that's perfect for hard carving and all-around riding.
  • ORANGATANG WHEELS - Choice of Orangatang 80mm Kegels for unmatched roll speed, grip, and smoothness or Orangatang 75mm Durians for just the right balance of grip and slide for a more freeride-friendly setup. Includes Loaded Jehu V2 bearings.

I just got my board a few days ago. I'm just getting back into skating. All I was looking for was a nice smooth surf like ride. This board is everything I thought it would be. I'm still a noob and need practice, but with time. I'll be carving the neighborhood like a pro. Slow rolling hills and smooth flats. This board is perfect for me and I haven't stop riding since I got it. Loaded makes one hell of a board.
Board flexes well and I'm 200lbs. Trucks are nice and the wheels grip and make you feel secure. Berings are nice, but are new so they should be.
If you're in need of a fun responsive board. Stop thinking. It's here!!!
Btw I'm not paid for this review, just a satisfied customer.
A Masterpiece

A work of art becomes a masterpiece when it is so complex, dynamic, and outstanding that it cannot be ignored. This board really is a masterpiece for what it is created for. Pictures do not do this board justice, it looks incredible. I ordered the cheaper "factory defect" model, which supposedly contained a superficial flaw in the looks. The only issue I saw was that the grip tape was put on off center, which was easily covered with a sticker.
The build quality and products on this board are professionally made. With some creative movement, the wheels will roll over anything smaller than a car. The trucks turn on a dime, and on such a short board you can pull it around in an instant. The bushings are nice and soft for responsive turns. The board itself is worth every penny. The pockets for your feet are spacious and really lock you in. There is no fear of going anywhere on this board. This board was made for excelling at flat ground riding - and it does so with gusto.
Replace the bearings immediately. They're unacceptable for the quality of this board - stick them on a cheaper setup and buy some Swiss or American ones. I bought some high-end bearings and can roll for blocks on rough asphalt with just a couple pushes and a little pumping.

Carving: The flex is unbelievable. It feels like riding a fly-fishing rod. This board is the most responsive thing I've ever ridden. It pops in and out of turns like a fighter jet, but its stability allows you to do so with confidence. I live in a flat area for now, but I would feel comfortable carving this down some low hills.

Commuting: This board has made commuting fun. It does sit rather high off the ground compared to other drop-throughs, but the flex allows you to dig in when you push. It feels like digging your foot into deep, loose soil. Its flex allows you to turn civilian slalom into pumping momentum. This board is deceptively light when you have to carry it around or jog up some stairs. It is lighter than my regular skateboard.

Pumping: Its what this board was made for. I'm still getting good at pumping, but this board takes no getting used to. It may be the easiest board to learn how to pump on. After 20 minutes I could pump this board up to 15+ mph after a couple pushes to get started.

I'm not sure I would want to do much freeriding or bombing on this board. I think the flex would be too much for that sort of activity.

I only have one real issue with this board. I weight 190, which in the description is light enough for the Flex 2. When I am being very active on this board, I can bottom it out. Its only happened twice. But as a warning, if you are in the upper weight ranges for the flex pattern of the board you order, and hop off a curve and land in the wrong spot, it may not hold you. This is easily avoided by riding right or ordering the heavier flex. For lighter folk, this probably isn't an issue.

Update: I've been riding this board for a month now and I absolutely love it. It is a great time. My only drawback is that, at the higher weight range for the Flex I got, I can bottom the board out while pumping. Since this is what I got the board for it has been a bummer, but if I don't go too ham on it its fine. Bit of a disappointment though. If you weight 190+ order the Flex 1!
Killer deck

I did a lot of research before getting this board... and I wasn't disappointed. Nice and flexy, good quality, cork bottom and graphic are cool. I've had the board for a little over a year and probably put at least 500 miles on it.

Couple of notes that might help people considering this deck:
- Drop through deck, although Loaded ships Paris trucks, they don't tell you that you need a spacer to prevent the raised lettering on the truck from damaging the deck (see picture). I found this out the hard way since I built my board myself from parts. Make sure you pick up the spacers, Loaded sells them. I think they come on complete boards by default.
- Bottom is cork. Although this is a cool look and feel, and supposedly helps absorb vibration, it is less durable than wood or bamboo since it's very soft. No grinding or other shenanigans on this deck or you'll rip up the bottom quick. I also noticed that it's wearing quickly on the tails from just kicking it up to my hand.
I am really impressed

This board is great. I got one of the original dervishes when it came out and have always ridden that board because it was completely broken in and what i was so used to. The tan tien kind of sparked my interest when it came out but mainly cause of the design on the bottom was really cool, but it was a little too short and the lips were too big for my taste. This is right in the middle and I have to say that the Loaded really did their homework here because the contours of the board on your feet allow you to carve so much sharper than I could ever with the dervish. A very smooth ride and the dampening seems to really help out as I don't feel the road on me feet as much.

I have been riding for the past 15 years here and there when I get some free time, don't really bomb hills, more into dancing, small commutes, carving, cruising.

... stock photo does not do any justice on how beautiful this board is

The stock photo does not do any justice on how beautiful this board is! This is my first longboard, and I definitely made a great choice, I am in love already with the sport. Did years of street skating and now gotta do something more relaxing. I'm still learning how to ride, but it is definitely a smooth ride on asphalt or sidewalks. Will have to update if my initial impressions change. Overall board setup is great. Purchased mine through Performance Longboarding seller, and can confirm their product description: Loaded Icarus Flex-2 Deck (2016 Graphic)
Paris V2 180mm X 50 Degree RKP Trucks (2016 Satin Black)
Orangatang 80mm X 80a Kegel Wheels (Orange)
Bones Mini Logo Bearings (Skate Rated)

Update #1:
After a 10 mile ride, I was learning how to pump and I think I got the hang of it. Feels really fun when the board rebounds back. Board feels pretty stable at 25 mph. My longboard skill level is beginner, this board seems to be a perfect fit for me in what I want to learn in this sport. Carving/pumping/cruising. I went over some rough asphalt (the type that makes your feet go numb on a normal skateboard) and I was surprised at the amount of shock absorption it has. Still got a long way to go learning though! Will update if things change.

Update #2
Just took this for a 5 mile ride up and down the beach pike pathway. Heading up wasn't too bad, the was a slight headwind also according to Strava, there was an overall elevation of about 50 feet. The most memorable part of this ride was heading back, with a tailwind, I was able to pump and carve all the way back with ease! It was the first time it felt like I was gaining/maintaining speed when pumping/carving. This board is awesome, I don't think I need to update anymore. Only thing I need to do is protect the tail and nose.
