Classic color for a modest price. Don't trust your hair to generic coloring!!

We like this brand and classic brown color. We've been using it for several years now. Always a good experience and the product is what we expect when we open the boxes. Has a strong chemical odor but that is what we experience with all of the hair coloring products so far. Be sure to follow the instructions and also wear the thin plastic gloves that are included or wear better ones if you have.

As you can see from the pic, it dyed my roots perfectly, which is very impressive because this is my first time dying my hair myself this year, the other color was done by salons and I don't know which products they used, so the fact that it turned out the same color is amazing. ALSO! My natural hair is almost black and this lightened it a lot (tho I use vol 30 instead of the vol 20 that comes in the box) so it's great for lightening dark hair without bleach

This is the 2nd time in a row the conditioner tube that comes with the product was broken open. Is the product old and tube has lost integrity? Is the box of hair color itself being badly handled at the warehouse or stored at high temps and the tube bursts open? The conditioner cream (this time) was all over the bottle of developer and the tube of color. I was glad to see it was 'only' the conditioner that had leaked.
Perhaps I need to reconsider the seller for the product? I do love this brand and will continue to use it but enough with the broken tubes of conditioner.

I have used L'Oréal Excellence cream hair dye for years, but the last two dyes I received had plastic tubes ( dye and shampoo ) that were of inferior quality. As I was applying the dye, the container was flaking. When I used the shampoo, the tube actually split open and shampoo was all over my hand. I love the hair color but was surprised with the packaging. I compared tubes with conditioners from previous orders, and there definitely is a difference in thickness.

I finally found the color to match my own!
The sun wreaks havoc and lightens my natural color and, while I've tried finding something to bring it back, nothing was working. I am turning silver and just wanted something to match my normal root color without turning reddish blonde over time.
Even though hair colors fade, this one has lasted pretty well and, honestly, the fade that DID happen only makes my hair look more natural... which is what I was hoping for.
As my hair grows fast, my roots are showing after a month BUT - I'm happy to report that everything looks NORMAL and that's what I wanted.
Pros: Comes with everything you need to color your hair. Directions are simple. Easy to apply. Has a decent, lasting color. Comes with a toning conditioner. Not much fading with this product.
Price point is good for this product.
Cons: The smell is not the best... but I don't think I've ever found a box dye that ever smelled good.....
All in all, I'm very pleased with the results I received with this product and would purchase again, should I ever get tired of seeing the salt and pepper look I'm excited to see for now :)
