Thing is absolutely HUGE and I highly recommend you cut softened toenails, like after a shower or bath!

So first it has to be said that this thing is huge! Like the pliers in your toolbox huge. When I tried it at first it didn't cut so much as just crush my toenails. It works much better out of the shower when your feet have been wet. Actually cuts then but still it's kind of intimidating to use. One slip and it seems quite capable of taking the end of your toe off. It does promote safety in that sense. You wouldn't be haphazard with it!

I really liked these at first. The blades cut well and cleanly, the grips were confortable (although one kept slipping out of place) and the storage guard was a nice idea. After a few uses, though, the cutting edge of the blades started overlapping when cutting and were sprung. The pair I had purchased previously did the same thing after a short time, and I was hoping for better results with these, due to their positive reviews. Well made clippers would have lasted much longer. I still have an old-fashioned pair that my father used for many years (and that I also used for many years after that), that I would still be using if the cutting edges weren't so badly worn. I guess it is true that they just don't make things like they used to! I wish I could recommend these, but I can't,...sadly.

I have thick toe nails (just the thumbs). I broke several scissors because my nails are so thick. Regular clippers don't work because my nails cannot fit in the opening of regular clippers. When I went to have a pedicure, the worker suggested that I see a doctor to get my nails trimmed.

As soon as I opened the package I attempted to cut my nails and THESE CLIPPERS WORKED BEAUTIFULLY. Easy to use. I just hope that they remain sharp for future trimmings.

I've purchased several toenail clippers in recent years but each has fallen short of my expectations. They've been difficult to hold, poor tension, rough manufacture, or just not sharp enough to do the job. I took these clippers for a test drive. So far they don't seem to share any of the negatives.
