This pack basket is great. It is light and durable, and is much easier to get kit into and back out than a typical backpack. It is also quiet, and great for deer-hunting. So, those Yankees in upper NY, NH, and Maine apparently know a thing or two.. I will hit mine with stain after my wife is done using it for decor, and I am going to change out the straps for 2" military cotton webbing. The nylon tends to stretch, and then becomes too narrow, digging into the shoulders with a heavy load. So, it's not perfect, but the quality and materials (other than the straps) can't be beat. If I were to use it only for canoing, then I would keep the nylon straps. If it had wider and stiffer straps, it would get 5 stars.
