I bought this for one specific project (had about 10 tubes of product to dispense in one short afternoon) and it was perfect for that. It gave a nice, consistent bead and didn't chew up much battery at all.
Since then I've used it for 3 other small projects that I wouldn't have even started if I hadn't had the dewalt caulk gun.
It's been great with one exception - the auto-retract doesn't seem to retract quite enough and leaves some dripping. Still worth it.

This is a wonderful tool. Having recently been afflicted with arthritis, this is a huge plus for easy operation. It is overpriced in my opinion but you also get what you pay for with DEWALT tools in thoughtful design and durability.

I discovered that the Dewalt Caulking Gun works Great if you make sure the Tube of the Caulk has the Tip Cut and the SEAL Inside the Tube is Pierced. My Gun worked fine on one Brand of Caulk and started Failing with other Brands. The Caulk started backing up in the gun and beyond the plunger. Caulk Companies are not telling people that they are sealing some of the Tubes in addition to requiring you cut the end of the nozzle. Many people are throwing away tubes of Caulk and think that the Dewalt Caulking Gun is Failing. The Dewalt Tool is not Failing; it's the Unpierced Tube of Caulk. I don't know why the Caulk Companies are not telling people to Pierce the Tube after Cutting the End of the Tube. I wasted 4 tubes of Caulk before I figured out what was happening. I am beyond Happy with this Tool and Highly Recommend it to the Professional and to all Do It Yourselfers. I rate this Tool a 10+++++++. Dewalt has a metal piece mounted on the gun that lets you pierce all internal seals. Enjoy this Tool! It saved me days doing barn roofs.
