Was not sure if I would use this that often, but it is very handy. Magnets do not stick on my refrigerator. So business cards, notes, etc. can be pinned with magnets. The chalk board comes in handy for quick reminder of groceries items or 'to do' list.

No matter how slowly or carefully I tried to peel off the protective film, so much of it didn't come off because it was wrapped under the framing. Also be careful because this board is actually 35.5 inches, NOT 36", which is a problem for me because I was using it to cover a crawl space opening. Now there's a weird gap at the bottom. This should be made more clear in the description.

Update: I contacted Amazon via chat about a possible defect and they issued me a refund via gift card and I did not have to return the board. Amazing customer service, as always. I haven't heard from the company, but I loved this board so I ordered another. Product came in great condition again. This time I took a razor blade around the edge and the film came right off with no issues. Updating my review from 2 to 4 stars. I only wish chalkboard sellers would tell you if their item is non porous or not. I just ordered some color chalk markers so we'll see how those come off. Stay away from metallics though! They won't come off.

I'm not sure if mine was defective? I can't seem to find any contact info for the company, so I'm hoping they'll see this and contact me. I am returning this one, but I'd like to order another one if I know this won't be an issue next time. Help!
For those wondering about LIQUID chalk, the white, crafty croc brand marker I have wipes right off with a wet rag left it on overnight and still came right off. No ghosting what-so-ever, but I also tried the gold and silver (same brand) and those will not come off after seconds of being applied. See attached photos.
