Like other reviewers mentioned, the remote is just silly. It literally only works if it is 3 inches away. Kind of gimpy but it's not worth returning so I will keep it until it dies and then rebuy one without the remote so I have more options.

Postives: Design - excellent. Easy to attach to an umbrella pole. Light is good - not too bright and gives a pleasant ambience.
The two-level remote is good.
Cons: Seems to use batteries at higher rate than I would expect for an LED light. Remote range is not great. About 5 ft (and yes, I've changed the battery!). Also tried the remote from various directions. Still only about 5 ft.
I wonder where the IR sensor is? IR, obviously, is very directional.
