Worked great until it became unusable

This worked great for a while... it never got super cold but was good enough to store my pumped breastmilk in my office at work until I took it home at the end of the day. I also used it in my car on occasion. I always turned it off when not in use and on weekends even stored it on a shelf away from where the cleaning crew might accidentally hit it. Last week I came back to work and plugged it in, only to find that I could no longer move the power switch to cold easily as I had in the past (I never use it for heating). I moved it after a lot of effort. I did turn it off again when leaving and came back to work again today, plugged it in, and can't move it at all. So while it was great when it worked, it's completely unusable now. I don't see any melted parts and I do always keep the back (where the fan is) clear and away from the wall.
Update: A rep from the company contacted me and sent me a new fridge free of charge! The new one is working great again - hopefully it will continue to do so. She also followed up to ensure that I got it and that everything is working fine.

Worked great, almost gets to 40 degrees (use this for pumping at work), h/w it's difficult to get the medela parts and the breastmilk to fit. I ordered the larger one TWICE b/c the first one broke down after one day and the other one never worked. Now I use a Danby fridge at work for the breastmilk. Wish I had done that in the beginning. Also this was a PAIN to return (LOTS of unreturned calls and emails)
But since when I bought the unit expecting it to be either pretty noisy in order to work well or the sodas ...

This mini-fridge/electric cooler is a bit smaller and lighter than I imagined (it can be picked up with one finger and is barely larger than the cans it holds), but it does hold 6 cans it is advertised to hold so I can't complain. Also a lot of people seem upset about the noise it makes as well as not cooling the cans of soda they put in it but in my personal experience with the unit I have it makes so little noise that it is hard to even know that it is running (unless you put your hand behind the fan and/or listen carefully for the fan), and the sodas are even COLDER than the sodas I usually get from my fridge. Granted I give more than enough time for the sodas to get cold when I put them in the mini-fridge; about a half a day to a day. But since when I bought the unit expecting it to be either pretty noisy in order to work well or the sodas slightly warm if it was silent, to have my soda both cold and the unit silent, I can say that I pretty happy with it so far. :D

I absolutely love this mini fridge! It gets my drinks colder than my regular refrigerator does! It's the perfect size..not too big to keep on your nightstand, and not too small that you can't fit anything in it. The inner shelf is removable if you wanted to store taller cans or stack things. It comes with a standard plug, car charger and a USB charger so you can take it anywhere you wish. It is exactly what I was hoping for!

With that in mind, it does keep things 10-20 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp.
I am returning mine only because the fan doesn't work when on DC Circuit. I got this for the purpose of storing my insulin but be warned (I think from another review, someone's Mom is using this for the same thing).
This will only cool the outside temp (outside the cooler) by means of thermo cooling. In other words, it can never get more than 20 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp. If your room is 70 degrees, it will cool (at best) to 50 degrees. Unopened insulin should be stored between 35 and 46 degrees. I used a fridge thermometer and even when the room itself was 65 degrees, I could never get this cooler to go below 52 when plugged into the AC. When I raised the room temperature to 70 degrees, the thermometer would sit between 52 and 55. Also note that this is a SMALL unit, when you open the door you lose ALL the cool air and your inside temp will drop about 10 degrees until it recovers. I never tried the warmer feature though. I guess if your keeping a six pack cool when you go to work without using an Ice Pack or Ice this would be great. When you are depending on it being a certain temperature - forget it.
