I have these handy BRIGHT little lights scattered throughout the house to see into dark closets or droped items under bed. So handy and much appreciated stocking stuffer for many of my friends. Okay so I assumed that the 54 batteries were not given with the product as described because they weren't in the package and none of the lights were turning on. I went to open one to insert my own batteries to check for functionality and saw that the batteries (3 each light) are preloaded. However, there are little red plastic discs that fall out when you unscrew the lights to insert batteries. These discs prevent the lights from turning on and draining the batteries in transport. After the disc falls out and I double-checked that the batteries didn't come loose a bit in transport, all 18 flashlights were in working order.
