I can't comment on these gloves for their protection against thorns, since that's not what I bought them for. I bought them for a costume and painted them a totally different color. I can say the leather is soft and these gloves are definitely good quality.

I love my gloves! Not only do I have roses with thorns, but I have other thorny bushes that I can now prune without tearing my arms up! Thanks for the cleaning tips...I was wondering what to do. The best part of these gloves, for me, is that they go all the way to my elbows so I can really get my hands down into the bushes! I am a petite person (4'10") and I love the fit!

These gloves protected my hands and arms when I pruned a monster climbing rose with the kind of thorns that reach out and grab hold of anything. I have small hands and ordered extra small. They were a bit big in the hands, but no enough that I had no dexterity. I expected to get a few punctures in the hand portion, but I didn't. My face didn't fare as well. Can't rate durability, as I used them for only about 3 hours, but I am very happy with them so far.
Nice leather, but fingers are too oversized and lack dexterity.

Very nice leather and price, but these are made to fit a over-sized man's fingers with their sausage-sized fingers. My woman's fingers are floating around in these and the gloves therefore lack some dexterity. But the cuffs are nice and thick and protect well from thorns. Please make a woman's sized glove with narrower fingers, then I'd give those a 5-star review. They would even be a little baggy on most men's hands I would think.
