Marvelous

These gloves are tremendous. The extra length comes in handy because when you are pruning roses, there is always going to be a branch that is going to reach out and grab your forearm. They are also by far the toughest ones I have ever owned. Other gloves, if a rose Thorn got the exact right angle, could go right through the fabric to your detriment. These are tough to the point where you can grab a stock and squeeze and no harm is done.

I find that I use these gloves regardless of the type of work that I am doing. The extra length comes in handy when I am moving Lumber or doing other tasks where there may be spiders in the vicinity. Regular gloves would protect you only up to a point as they don't protect your forearms. These gloves would be a good buy even if the price were much higher.
I'd give them 10 stars if I could...

These gloves save your hands like steel reinforced-toe shoes save your feet!! Never have I had a pair of gloves so soft yet strong enough for me to finally overcome my powerful rose thorns. Pruning has been a nightmare since we moved into a new home with a lush tropical backyard setting, including many beautiful rose varieties. One in particular has thorns up to 5/16" long and sharp as a surgeon's tool. I used to feel she was out to get me as I nearly bled to death several times while pruning.

These soft, truly Thorn Proof, EZ-on gloves are quite simply the best. They slip on easily and stay put. Others I've owned had annoying straps that would come loose. Not to mention these gloves are made of steel. Not to big or floppy; like real gloves but for gardening...but made of steel.

Yesterday, I was able to load the clippings I pruned off the Beast and push them into the wheelbarrow with my Gloved Hands. Then I shoved them into the recycler with my Gloved Hands. Did I mention these gloves are made of the softest steel fabric ever invented? They call it Thorn Proof Goatskin.

This is an honest company who delivers on all their claims. I recommend these gloves wholeheartedly, you will not be disappointed. Fabulous price, when you receive them you'll realize you'd expect to pay more for this type of quality. I've conquered the Beast; she's once again my Beauty.
The Gloves I Needed to Do the Job

I purchased the burgundy gloves, size Large. They fit "like a glove" but a little snug on the forearm - so if you have Popeye forearms, maybe try a size larger?
I purchased these to prune evil citrus trees that had bit me a few times too many, plus I had a mammoth rose that didn't make it through a freeze and my initial attempts were scratching up my forearms.
First, the gloves came promptly, and packaged appropriately, but I've been kinda busy and only went out for a pruning session today. I worked on both citrus some citrus that I hadn't gotten too, and both live and dead rose bushes. I probably spent about an hour and a half working with the new gloves on.
I got exactly what I wanted: no scratches! Of course, I don't pretend that I can grab and grip thorn-laden branches with impunity - I definitely wasn't trying to prove that the things were puncture-proof! I sometimes mis-grabbed, but because I never squeeze tightly until I'm sure what's under my fingers, I never punctured or hurt myself. And of course, no more thorns grabbing my skin or sleeves!
I also like the little pop of understated color. Good job!
Very impressed !!

Wow, these gloves are by far better then I could have imagined. I'm not actually using them for the garden, although at some point I may. What I bought them for is for the handling and taming of young blood pythons. They can be a bit snappy at a young age and "cold" gloves rather then warm hands make them more comfortable during the first few handlings. Not to mention, their teeth don't get through.
These gloves are buttersoft yet STRONG in the hand area. Very flexible, I can move my fingers just fine. The "arm" part is stiffer, but not to thick or wide, so it doesn't get into the way, while still providing good protection. Great buy, highly recommended. MUCH better then the actual "animal handling" gloves that I previously bought.
Perfect for doing battle with Arizona Spiky Things

I bought these to use for trail clearing in Arizona, where every plant is festooned with spikes and ready to shred lesser gloves. When doing battle with fearsome brush, especially Cat Claw, these gloves did the job. The glove part over the hands did a good job of protecting my hands when picking up cuttings and grabbing stalks to move for access to a cut point. The cow leather forearm part did an excellent job of protecting my arms when reaching deep inside a murderous needle-equipped Death Bush.

The goatskin part is functional and effective for many spiky plants. Just don't grab too hard and you'll be OK. I tried picking up a cholla cutting and despite being gentle, the devil plant managed to poke me a little bit through the glove. With any other glove I would have been thoroughly impaled and forced to whip out my hemostat to de-spike myself. With these I just brushed the offending spiky chunk off with a pair of clippers and moved on.

No, you aren't going to win a punching contest with a saguaro, but for normal garden work, and even careful trail trimming, these are awesome.
