I found out about this at a "sauces" workshop (for the general public, not pro-chefs) at the Cordon Bleu in Paris a few years ago. We went from handling raw chicken, to making a raw sauce vierge. We were told to rinse our cutting board and knife, and then spray everything (cutting board, knife, countertop, etc.) with this spray, wait at least 2 minutes, and then start cutting veg for the raw sauce. It was in unlabeled containers, but I asked the chef before we left what this magic product was. I am a total hypochondriac and assumed my salmon with sauce vierge would be thrown away when I got back to the apartment. Idid some research, and decided to "risk it" and eat my salmon. I've been sold ever since. An extra star for being truely scent free. My very fragrance allergic mom has no problem with this product.
awesome cleaner

I did a spray all over my house including door knobs, bathtub, light switches and it dried nicely! Mostly fragrant-free with that hint of alcohol but that's fine.
What i'm skeptical about - description says it can kill norovirus, and speaking from some that had to experience it 2 years ago, I read online that it takes REALLY toxic chemicals to kill that stuff. An excessive amount of chlorine in a swimming pool (dangerous amount) is required to kill it, meanwhile, this description of dry-no wipe/rinse and the basic known alcohol dried chemicals is suppose to kill it? I would love a fact-check here!
Minus one star because I used it to spray on mattress my daughter soiled. to be fair, Mattress isn't listed on the description, nor is it an "odor" killer..but I thought it might at least give the impression of improving the urine smell and stain off what she left. So I'm willing to retract this statement as well as long as someone can give me a more detailed how-to on this product.

Freaking Amazing! I have contamination OCD so this will be a long, hopefully helpful/in depth review

So this cleaner has the same ingredients as the new "Purell Multi Surface Disinfectant" in either Citrus or Fresh Scent that is able to be found in some cleaning isles in grocery stores. Except it doesnt have a scent added which is amazing for someone with migraines, to the point if I have to go down the cleaning isle, I have to do drive by passes jogging past the other side to "unscented" air and waiting a couple minutes before making another pass or its instant gagging.
I also have contamination OCD, in relation to germs and harsh chemicals/poisonous substances. Diluted bleach is my go to cleaner, most people think bleach is super dangerous but its actually quite safe and effective when used correctly, probably one of the safest and most effective sanitizer but Im always looking for something either better or the equivalent in safety and sanitizing ability. Most people will just read the bold print on cleaners such as "kills 99.9%* of germs* *No harmful residue" without reading how the cleaner actually works on the back, which will usually say the cleaner needs to sit for a stupid amount of time and will only kill 99.9% of some weak germs. Not THIS though!!! This amazing, miracle of a cleaner has great disinfecting/sanitizing abilities while being super safe and you can use this on soft surfaces which obviously white soft surfaces are the only ones you can use bleach on. There is a difference between sanitizing and disinfection, disinfection being more complete in killing germs, max time for disinfection is 5 minutes but that's for mold, all the other times are 30 seconds to a minute and that's for scary stuff like Staph. Anyways, Purell why have you been hiding this from the public world? You could definitely corner the market if you educate people on how well this works and how safe it is. You want to start selling this to me in gallons, because Im literally about to use this on all hard surfaces/ soft surfaces that wont be damaged in my house.
Pros:
- Kills quite a few bad germs fast
- Wont kill you or your pets back
- Dont need to rinse
- Can be used on soft surfaces
- Safe on stainless (pretty hard to find in effective cleaners), granite, vinyl, finished woods, glass and pretty much everything else in your house except I do not see walls and knowing the main ingredient is alcohol it might rub away some of your paint but you could try.
- No harsh smell, there is still a smell but its not much (if you like smells, the ones found in the grocery store are not bad at all, in fact I can tolerate those and on a good day find them both pleasant and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again)
- It can replace a lot of other cleaning supplies in your arsenal, for example Windex.
Cons:
- Its not the best cleaner for lets say something stuck on your countertop, it will still get the job done but its going to take a little longer than something harsher.
- Bleach will still kill more germs and as someone with Contamination OCD that will always draw me to it for bathrooms or pet messes on hard surfaces but is that actually needed? Maybe or maybe not. Bleach is probably overboard but Im not sure this is enough and it doesnt advertise itself for bathrooms.
- Not so good with stains, like if you accidently spill a drop of wine on your laminate counters :/ and you dont clean it up right away, bleach is still going to be your go to.
Also, Purell needs to look into possibly a floor cleaning product line because I would stock up on that. Maybe some pre soaked swiffer pads or a swiffer wetjet bottle. Or just sell it in bigger sizes haha :) so I can dump it on my tile floors.
Edit: Just confirmed with Purell that all these products with the same EPA reg number of 84368-1-84150 are the same product just advertised to different industries, so it can definitely take out some major germs. Also, sadly that the store version of this is being discontinued :( This is a seriously badass disinfectant that is safe and I think if consumers knew that this would be a best seller in this area.

Love this Stuff

After a bout of norovirus in my office a few years ago, I started using this to disinfect surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, kitchen appliances, copiers, scanners, etc. I absolutely love that it's not scented, although they do make a scented version as well. I spray it on and either let it dry or wipe it off after a couple of minutes. It will leave a murky colored film on whatever you spray it on if you don't wipe it off after. I use this in my kitchen at home to wipe down counters after dinner and as long as I wipe it up, it doesn't leave a film. It never leaves a sticky residue either. Highly recommend, and can never find it in stores so glad I can order online.
