after a couple hours of wear the tension on the scull gets to be mildly painful.
After about 4 hours of wear my head was hurting, when I took them out the relief was great.
It was obvious these were causing the headache.

I use a lot of this general type of "tortoise shell" hair pin- I like them a lot better than bobby pins, and I thought this style might stay in better than the regular open kind I order. They were also less expensive and more in the pack. While they do stay in a bit better, they are very sharp on the ends, they grip so tight it sometimes pulls out my very fine hair when removing (just what I hate about bobby pins), and they are a bit too short to place well. Disappointing!

The tips of these are SHARP compared to the same brand bought in past years. They are pretty painful to use. If you can stand the tips, they hold hair well but they do break in thicker hair pretty easily.

Why did I not know these existed? I used to use spin pins but these are as effective and I feel like less potential damage to your hair. I have bought these more than once now not because they broke. Because I wanted clear and black and I keep one in every purse and work bag I own. So easy to throw my hair up in a top knot and throw this in and it stays perfectly in place with no slippage.

My mom gave me some bun pins similar to these about 10 years ago. When 2 of those 3 broke after regular use, I had to order more. I was skeptical, but these looked as close to what I had as I could find. Thankfully, they work great! 3 pins in a twisted bun and you've got work-ready hair in 5 minutes. These work well on thick hair of varying lengths. A must-have! If they last half as long as my last ones, I'll be happy!
