Well built with great customer service follow up. Bought as a pack axe, so the size is great. However axe tends to "bounce" a little when chopping even though sharp. Personally wish head weight was more but some would argue different for a axe you pack in on hikes.

This particular application was for use on a tomahawk axe, a rubber handle saver would have looked ridiculous. This helko leather handle guard went on easy, I even wet the wrap and lace to tighten as it drys. Looks good and works too!

The guard itself is great. The leather seems durable, well made. The leather lace broke during a first attempt at tying the guard onto my Hult Bruks hatchet.
In all fairness, I was trying to tie it on tightly. Eventually, while pulling on one side, the lace broke. That's okay, though. I'll use the halves for something else.
Furthermore, the leather lace was bulky and cumbersome to work with. It's easier and probably stronger to use 550 paracord. On Amazon, you can pick some up in whichever color you can imagine for around $7. That's what I did, and I'm pleased.
Would I buy again? Yeah, but now you know.
