I was so happy to see Hunts was packaging their sauce in cartons. I am having g problems finding it in stores and was so happy to see Amazon could help, as usual!
I've used it for awhile now and NEVER experienced it as watery and tasting bad. It doesn't taste any different than the canned version without the bad chemicals...To the reviewer that commented on not understanding it being in cartons, here is why:
canned tomatoes have an especially high risk of leaching BPA into the tomatoes because of the acidity. This is not to say that other canned goods do not also pose BPA exposure risks (they most certainly do), but tomatoes are one of the worst offenders.
And THAT is why it's best in cartons. Thank You, HUNTS for doing this!!!

Cardboard boxes are made for "Crackers or Cookies", not liquid products a simple concept obviously to difficult for Amazon's ability to comprehend ?
It was very watery and foul tasting. I eventually threw it all away

I have been using this sauce for a couple of years. I opened 2 of the containers and had to throw it away. It was very watery and foul tasting. I eventually threw it all away.
