I bought 4 of these mounts in order to attach multiple XBoxes to the underside of my desk using the VESA mounting holes. It all worked out beautifully in the end, but not without a bit of planning and engineering.

First, the good: these brackets are perfectly sized to securely hold an XBox One S console. Cutouts in the mount allow plenty of airflow to the xbox. Vertical mounting will work in either direction. And the VESA-pattern holes are a brilliant addition--that is what made my crazy desk-mounting solution possible, and is the detail that directly led to my purchase decision.

Now, the not-so-good: I would not trust using the mount attached directly to the underside of a desk--not only is the lip that holds the console pretty minimal, but the VESA mounting holes are beveled into the thin sheet metal of the mount! You only get 2 of the 4 screws you need to use the VESA mount, and they're tapered so as to fit flush with the mount. In other words, the only thing holding your console would be a thin ring of the screw head against partial thickness of the mount!

My desk mount solution, and bottom-line rating: To attach consoles to my desk I used a folding under-cabinet monitor mount with a generous weight-rating (the XBox is ~8lbs). I also used a quick-detach VESA adapter to connect the monitor mount to the HIDEit mount. The adapter allows me to easily remove my consoles and fold the mount up out of the way when I don't need the consoles there. And (*hint*, *hint*), if HIDEit makes a similar VESA-enabled mount for the XBox One X I'll be able to upgrade my setup in a snap.

I could have easily removed a star for not providing all the hardware I needed for the mount, or for the questionable VESA solution (next time, how about some flat pan-head screws that provide plenty of purchase with minimal impact to clearance?). I chose to give the full 5 instead because there is no other mounting option that would have worked for me, and the HIDEit is a great product for more typical use cases.

How do you take a picture of a product you can't see?! Well, maybe you can see it a bit, but it looks great. This mount let's me seamlessly mount my Xbox at the edge of the TV that I put in my kids' playroom. I didn't want to put it completely behind the TV because of ventilation, but I think it looks great like this. It hides the HDMi cable behind the TV. I may move the power outlet up higher behind it too so you don't see any cables at all! Now, I just need to order two more mounts for two more Xbox controllers.

Easy to mount on the wall with the included hardware, and holds the console securely. The mount is barely noticeable when in use and the Xbox looks as if it was floating on the wall. Both the console mount and the controller mounts are made of steel and (I believe) powder coated so they will last essentially forever. Looks great in use. I have them attached to the drywall using the included anchors and while I have not pulled on them with excessive force, they hold is very solid.

This is a solid and convenient mount. It was also the only mounting option of its kind that I found at the time of purchase (other than 3D printing). I found the price to be a little high, but not too unreasonable given its solid metal construction.

Mounting advice:
You can use the included hardware, but if you are mounting in a high traffic area (or have kids), I recommend using better drywall anchors, such as Togglers, EZ- anchors, etc. (I like togglers for what its worth), to make sure the mount can take even more abuse. Also, make sure you install the mount so the side with the small catch on back will be on the same side as the back of your XBox One S. This will ensure that the XBox slides in from the front and is not pushed back when buttons are pressed. It is not difficult to unscrew and flip should you make that mistake (and discs will still slide in with the "incorrect" orientation, but I suggest to HIDEit that it should include directions or markings on the correct mounting orientation.

I've had my eye on a hideit mount for a while now. I had an idea for my game room where I wanted everything hidden and the hideit mount for my new Xbox one S did the job perfectly. I didn't want to see anything on my wall except for a TV and a fireplace, and man...couldn't be happier. The hideit mount did the job better than expected. Went up and secured my Xbox in less than 5 mins. It's tucked behind my tv so you'd never know it's there, exactly how I imagined it. I emailed them several months ago and their CS team responded back super quick. I'll be shopping with them again, hopefully when the new Xbox Scorpio comes out, that bracket will replace this current one. (Please make a Scorpio bracket!).
