Absolutely Magical Matcha Powder!
Lia •August 15, 2018
Naoki Matcha Green Tea Powder is my very first home made matcha, and I absolutely enjoy every little sip of it. Me and my husband have just fallen in love with Usucha (just with water). Now, we even do not want to go in cafes for matcha latte. Just have this magic at home now. I'am a green tea lover for years, but matcha powder my #1 so far.
Naoki Matcha feels just mesmerizing, light with multi-faceted even versatile tones, it takes me away from this world and at the same time gives me energy, concentration, lightness, amazing mood and inspiration. You will not open up all it's greatness with matcha latte in cafe. However, this green tea powder tastes very good with all plant based milk as well. I also absolutely love my every matcha home ceremony. The powder has very good quality, so if whisked carefully and with love there are no lumps. (tried matcha latte in different cafes and they all had lumps). And the little Naoki matcha's container design super classy and authentic.
Thank you Naoki Matcha for wonderful experience and the whole new world of feelings! Now I am thinking about traveling to those beautiful parts of Japan near Kyoto!

so if you enjoy matcha that is not sweet and is more I ...

This particular matcha tastes more on the seaweed and earthy side in my opinion, so if you enjoy matcha that is not sweet and is more I guess the word would be robust, then I would definitely recommend this product to you. I personally enjoy making all kinds of things with matcha, and because this matcha is more on the seaweed and earthy side I recommend using it for a matcha shot, a clean matcha latte, or even in a marinade with fish. I don't like mixing this matcha powder with lots sugar because I find it tastes more bitter. A little sugar, honey, or no sweetener works best in my opinion.
The only thing that bothers me about this product is that I constantly have to mix whatever drink I made with it, despite mixing fairly well in the beginning, because the powder settles at the bottom of the cup making your last sip wet matcha powder.

Whisk with no problem

This was my first time purchasing Naoki. I drink matcha regularly but knew very little about quality up until I purchased this. It is very fine compared to the store bought ones Ive purchased before from the organic/health store. A little is going to definitely last me a long time. The color is very bright, the taste is very earthly, if that makes sense. I usually mix it with my collagen powder and I have had no problems with whisking. I expected clumps but nothing yet. Im definitely going to keep buying. Did I mention the packaging is impressive, Im not into the big bag look. I like to keep this in the office or on the go. Looks just elegant.
The best premium matcha on Amazon
Sooz•February 17, 2018
If you're like me and you have trouble finding a good quality matcha in person and are trusting Amazon reviews for some direction: trust me, this is the best matcha on Amazon! I've tried many of the premium/so-called premium matcha brands on Amazon and none of them beat this one. Naoki Matcha smells divine, like a strong dark chocolate"”this is an excellent indication of superior taste. The color is vibrant, which you should expect from a high-quality matcha. This matcha is from Uji, which is famous worldwide for its quality green tea and matcha. The crema that this matcha produces is simply luscious. And because this matcha is so fine, not only does it pass through a sieve quite nicely (you actually may not even need a sieve if you don't have one), but it doesn't settle as much as other coarser matcha. This is great because you won't risk getting that sad green puddle of settled matcha at the bottom of your bowl or cup. Finally, this is one of the better tasting premium matcha I've had from Amazon. It has a powerful green tea flavor that is chock full of creamy umami. Best of all, the quality control is excellent for this matcha, and the taste, smell, and coarseness are very consistent with each tin.
I will clarify though: if you would really like to get into matcha, check out real companies based in Japan, particularly Kyoto or Uji. Not everyone has this luxury of course, so for matcha on Amazon, I would recommend this one.
For reference, I have also tried the following matcha sold on Amazon: Tealyra matcha (consistency varies, so it is a hit-or-miss, and it is hard to get a good crema with this matcha); Haru matcha (good crema, coarser matcha, but the taste is lacking); Matcha Moon (also decent crema, the taste is decent as well, but the matcha settles too much on the bottom and gets too bitter near the end).

Super fine powder. Hardly any clumps!!

I've tried a few matcha brands around the same price (20s range) and have to say that if you are drinking this thick, it can be a bit more bitter than others but I've come to like the taste! It is comparable to the popular midori spring ceremonial (slightly even better than midori in my opinion) but about 5 bucks cheaper! It has a good strong tea smell. However what really stands out for me is that this powder is super fine and there were hardly any clumps even when I did not use the whisk! I'm not a patient whisker and so this is a big plus for me. I would drink this thick, almost koicha like. If you drink it thin, there's no big difference between this and the ones of lesser price of around 10 bucks...
