grade 2 is as stated grade 2 will work fine for what i need them for my problem was when i bought them i failed to see the 10.00 shipping fee for a 10.00 dollar product was not their falt was mine could have drove six miles there and back to my local farm store or my new blots and nut dealer next door to them for a lot less than 10.00 dollars

Had issues finding information for these as I was ordering them based on what a family member could tell me over the phone. Luckily I tend to research and found that these grade 2, 1/2 inch x 3 inch bolts are exactly what you use on a John Deere (48 hp) with Rhino 172 Brushhog.
Make sure you get the correct grade of steel as they are designed to "shear" over a specified torque level. This is so that damage to the gear box or the drive shaft (much, MUCH more expensive to replace) does not occur.
