I bought these to prevent chafing and scarring from rubber rain boots, since snow boots don't really suffice for snowy midwestern winters. They're cute, have sufficient fluff, and kinda make rain boots look like snow boots. I have muscular calves, so I was concerned these might not fit well, but they do. They seem small when you first see them, but stretch well enough. They're pretty snug, but not too uncomfortable. You could probably fit these over ankle boots. They're pretty cute if you match them with a scarf and hat.
