I just used them for bagging dead fern fronds. The fern ends poked through even though I tried to keep them away from the bag. They will work OK for leaves. Size: I used a 39-gallon plastic trash can to hold the bags with large office paper clips as I stuffed them. The bag hung over the sides about 4 inches. I had to leave about 4 inches below the rim so the bag could be twisted and tied. So, in my experience, they hold more like about 35 gallons in a practical application.

They did go over a large bale of hay, though it took two to cover it.

Overall, a good bag if you don't have things that will poke through. After all, why pay more for something that will be tossed? Not a tough as a 1.25mil bag made of a stretchier material. The material they are made of doesn't stretch.

Wish they came with ties.

To me, they ate the equivalent of a good standard bag. But I wanted commercial/contractor bags. The price is good if you need such for non piercing trash or for less weighty things.

..but I usually put 2 in each trash can anyway just in case of disaster. These are a great value for the price I just wish they were perforated a little stronger so they came apart better.
