I was not expecting much for around $13, and to be fair, this is a low-cost mass-produced kit. But I found this kit while simply searching for motors to build a 1st robot with my kids that would eventually look just like this. When I saw this for $13, I decided "sure, I'll give it a try". For the price, I received more parts that I needed than if I were to by them separately. The motors aren't awesome, but of a 1st robot, they do work. The plastic base is acrylic, so it's fragile. Mine broke slightly when I was man-handling it, but the break didn't really affect the operation of the robot. The battery box is probably the cheapest part, but again, I paid a price I would expect for 1 motor, and received 2 motors, 2 wheels (that match those motors), a caster (which is of pretty decent quality BTW), a pre-drilled/-cut plastic base including the mounts for the motors, and the battery box. I was missing one piece of hardware that was supposed to be in the kit, but it was easy to find a replacement in my spare parts stash. And I received a bunch of extra hardware also, which ended up in my spare parts stash too. Even trade.

Other than that kit is low quality and full of junk, only good stuff is the MPU 6050, HRSC-04, sorta the remote, and sorta the chassis. Might as well get the chassis by itself instead of this crap.

Easy to assemble and ready to use

Works fine for me, with a Raspberry and a l293d I can control it just fine. It's very easy to assemble, you will need a screwdriver and soldering iron. The only detail I've encountered so far is that the wheels are not perfectly aligned but they don't collide with screws or anything so a 5 star product for me.
Don't buy.

1. The screws were too short to go through the plexiglass board. This means that the screws that came with the board are useless and you will need to buy new longer screws.
2. The holes in the plexiglass do not have practical purpose. If you plan to attach Arduino to che chassis then you will need to drill new holes.
3. The instructions are written in very broken English and cover only the part that describes how to attach motors to the chassis. It does not explain at all how to attach Arduino or other sensors to chassis.
4. The encoder sensor does not fit in the the hole without physically pushing against encoder rendering it unusable.
