Hold down for small boat removable wooden thwart bench seat.

I wanted something to hold down a custom wooden (Ipe) thwart bench seat plank from rattling in rough seas on an old 13' Boston Whaler. Top eye pivot is attached underneath each side of seat (2 @ SS pan head screws) with the catch attached below on inside of the hull on port and starboard sides of the seat support rails molded into the hull. Catch requires two holes to be drilled to mount on the inside of the hull, one SS pan head screw pilot hole and one slightly larger blind hole for the dowel pin that is molded onto the back of the catch to keep the catch from rotating around the axis of the mounting screw.
Keeps good tension holding the seat firmly in place, and makes removing the seat simple for cleaning and when extra seating is not needed. Precise alignment of the seat to the hull is not critical to tie down both sides, and won't corrode like a metallic catch or hasp Also, shouldn't hurt if you stub you toe against the rubber draw handle which is hidden just beneath each edge seat.

I have a Cooler from Gander Mountain and my strap broke and this worked great!
They'll work.Not impressed though.
