IMO these are much better than the Astro a50
Chris M.March 7, 2018
A very decent set of wireless heaphones, with a wireless headset built in. IMO these are much better than the Astro a50, with a more balanced, cleaner sound an a nicer mic. Also unlike my A50's I've never had an issue with connectivity to their base, which is a simple USB stick like device you can run an IR input into to get the full surround sound. I use these on my PC as my primary set of PC heaphones. I really, really like the audio in function because it lets me control the surround sound with my sound card drivers. It also works neatly in windows, adding and removing the headset as you power off and on the heaphones. The large dials on either side make adjusting chat vs game volume very quick and easy, and they have just enough positive pressure not be jostled easily.

Yes they a bit heavy, and yes they get hot and steamy over your ears after a while. This is inherent to the basic design and every set of over-the-ears anything I have ever used at like this. These get some serious point for having cloth against my skin over the bonded leather/pleather crap most use.

So far the only fatal flaw is the fact they don't have an auto-off function so you have to mindful to turn them off. Also, like everything today, they don't have a customer-replaceable battery, so the when the internal lithium cell dies, you will need to seek a professional repairman to get it working again. I'm very much not a fan of that reality, but unlike the Logitech, these do actually work, so there is that.
Love/Hate relationship - AVOID Defective Product

I love the sound of these headphones. I love the look of these headphones. The surround sound works great for Xbox One's Overwatch and I use them on a daily basis listening to iPhone. Unfortunately they must have a design flaw with the headband because (after only 2 months of use) small cracks are forming at the top. I care for my stuff and don't put them under any unnecessary stress to cause these cracks. When putting them on I pull the cups apart just enough to fit over my head and hang them up when finished. I would also like to note that the pair I am reviewing are actually a replacement pair from Amazon since the first pair came with same issue new out of package. Even is Lucidsound replaces them $200 is too much to pay for a set of headphones that crack this often. *Pics are of both sides of band.

**update- I had received my replacement set and have been using them daily. Again they have started to crack at the "˜O'. Moving this down to 1 star as this is the third set with the exact same issue.
Phenomenal sound and surprisingly comfy!

I bought this so I wouldn't wake my new roommate with my sub-woofer & surround sound speakers in the living room while I game. And I hate wires. This seemed the closest balance, according to reviews, between true wireless, great sound, and relative cost for a gaming headset when it comes to the PS4.

Instead, I wake her with my yelling... 'cause I forget that I'm wearing a headset (it sounds just like my speakers), and that's just what I do when I play Galactic Assault in SWBF II. The ease of adjustment for chat and in game sound is perfect. Muting is hella easy too. The removable mic is pretty good/decent. Depends on what you're used to I guess. It does pick up some background noises, especially if you don't have a foam windscreen/cover. But that's what the mute is for... and my peeps are cool so it doesn't matter. It's not like they hear everything... just some things, like the sound of a muscle car zooming past my house in the middle of the night for no reason. (I live in suburbia now, no one needs to drive that fast with their engines tuned that loud.)

I don't feel I lose out to quality of sound with the surround, it isn't distant nor is it tinny. (And yes, I hear you trying to sneak up on me.) On stereo, I can bump my music to my heart's content.

Even though I don't like wires and think big cans are weird in public, I use them for listening to music anyway when I'm out and about. I used to use discrete bluetooth earphones/plugs when listening to music while I shop or whatever. But these sound so good, I don't care if big cans look funny while I'm walking my dog or when I'm bouncing in the aisles at my local grocery store, gamestop or whatever random shop I'm in.

If I wasn't worried about crushing them in my sleep, I totally would wear them to bed.

I was very excited when I got this headset, I had spent hours researching best sound quality wireless headsets. Sadly I should have researched build quality too. The ear cup are heals together by a tiny piece of plastic. Yes, that's right, your $200 headphones are held together by ~1mm of plastic. I found this out when I accidentally knocked them off my head as I stood up and they fell to the carpet floor and one of the ear cups broke off. Sound quality is decent, I had no disconnect issue, but the build quality is not up to par. Not with $200 due to this reason.

I like them wicked good. Sound better than my more expensive turtle beach head phones and are much more comfortable. Only downside is thta you need a wire to connect to controller for chat... but that isn't really to big of a deal... How far are you really planning to go from you controller when playing video games.
