They're heavy. About twice or so as heavy as a pair of jeans that of the same size when you pick them up. But not as hot as the weight would imply... I was worried about that with recent heat waves everywhere, but it's truly not a big issue in them. I'm short and curvy, wide in the bum/hips... they look pretty good and the fact that the waist is drawstring is helpful for those of us that tend to have waist-to-hip ratio issues with pants often causing gaps in the waistline. The fold down of the top and the adjustable legs help for being short and most pants (to include these) being too long on me and give it a kind of both nice and fun/funky look. The pockets hold a lot without looking too bulky and the fact that the "normal" hip pockets are actually double pockets - "normal" where your hand just slides in like any pants and a low-profile zipper letting into another underneath it, stealthy if you're not expecting that - is good for those of us who need to carry both fairly normal and unusual items and/or crowd and potential pickpocket or loss areas are a common occurrence. I have to carry both regular payment items and also a passport often (or copy of) and meds I don't want to accidentally drop or have obvious or grabbable easily and if you worry for your cell phone these are good. I was doubtful when they first arrived and felt they looked "alright" on me and felt heavy but okay... I've owned them for a month or so now and am traveling in them and use them comfortably in the heat and have found the hidden and the zipped pockets helpful. They fit about average for their size, like said the length is made to be changing to style wanted or height and the waist is adjustable so if you're shorter and/or curvier and in doubt go ahead and give them a try.

I ordered these pants in two sizes (L & XL), hoping one would be a perfect fit. I'm 5'4" and 162 lbs. The L was tight at the hips but fit perfectly at the waste -- the soft stretch fabric wasteband was snug and comfy. The XL fit the hips but the stretch fabric wasteband was floppy and loose. Luckily, the drawstring tie at the waste keeps the pants up, and I can fold over the fabric wastband to cover it, but it's not as tidy as the size L. The length is too long for me and I don't like how wide the pants legs are at the bottom. The adjustable side drawstrings at the ankle are a bit goofy; I would have preferred elastic. That said, the pants are extremely comfortable, and the pockets are large and practical. The one thing missing -- and someone else mentioned this too -- is a loop that you could attach a carabiner to. Also, the Amazon description lists the fabric as rayon, but these pants are cotton and poly. The description also indicated the pants have 11 pockets (to include a small key pocket at the waste), but the two pair I have are sans key pocket. I'll likely keep both pair (in hopes that I will drop a few lbs). In the meantime, I'm enjoying the XL and plan on wearing them on a trip to Glacier National Park this summer.

I'm 5'5 & 150. I ordered the large and they were very comfortable but I was worried they would not stay up once I filled the pockets. there was a lot of extra fabric in the legs but that didn't really bother me.

I ordered the medium to try on and to see the difference in the fit. They will stay up much better and are just as comfortable as the large with a lot less extra fabric. I wore them around the house for a day and they wrinkled only slightly. Hung them up overnight and most of the wrinkles just fell out. I haven't washed them yet. the fabric doesn't seem like it will wrinkle a lot. That would be a deal-breaker for me. I can't stand khakis or linen for that reason. I don't like being a wrinkled mess.
I LOVE these pants. I can carry my phone, inhaler, keys, and even my glasses. The pants don't bulge out with things in the pockets either. Perfect.

I needed these pants for a trip I have planned. I did not want to take a purse so having all of these protective pockets really helps

I received my SCOTTeVEST Margaux Travel pants today, and I LOVE them. I struggled with what size to get, so I read all of the reviews referencing sizing. I was still confused, so for those of you wondering what size to buy, here is what I did: I am 5'4" and 150 pounds. My waist is 32" and hips 39". By the sizing chart in inches, I should have ordered a large, but most of my jeans and pants are 8s. I have a few 10s and even a few 6s, but the majority of my pants are 8s. I ordered the size I wear--M (8-10). They fit perfectly except they are about an inch too long. My legs are not thin or skinny, so they are not baggy in the legs. Some people expressed a problem with the waistband not holding the pants up when the pockets are loaded; but evidently they have added a drawstring in the waist, which takes care of the problem. We travel a lot, and these pants will be perfect for long flights. The waistband is soft and will be comfortable for long hours of sitting. There are plenty of pockets, and they are deep. The zippers are plastic with a few snaps on the pockets, but there isn't enough metal to set off metal detectors in the security lines. The material is a little heavier than most fast-dry travel pants, so they should be warm in cooler weather. I don't think these will be fast drying, though. I haven't had a chance to wash them to see how they do; but at this price, they should not wrinkle too much, shrink, or fade. I'll update my review if they do any of those things. These pants are a bit pricey, but I do plan to order another pair in another color soon. I think they will be worth it for traveling.
