I didn't know how much I needed this till I received it. I had initially ordered the trivetrunner as something "holiday-ish" to put on my table.
During a kitchen remodel I learned that what I thought was a very hardy counter top surface is both porous and subject to scratching. I cook in cast iron cookware, and have several pieces. The trivetrunner has become an every day piece that I use on the somewhat fragile counter top; it's attractive, functional, can be used with very hot pots and doesn't swim around my counter top. I'm going to buy another - for my table. :)

I bought the beige-and-lace style of the Trivetrunner. Since it goes well with my dining room colors, I placed it in the center of our mahogany table, ready for use under all the hot dishes whenever we actually have a meal there next, and to catch drips whenever I water a floral arrangement in the meantime. Based on the glowing reviews, I'm sure that it will protect my table as intended. What other single trivet allows you to protect a surface more than a yard long, yet, if desired, can be stored rolled up in a drawer? Wonderful product, and a good choice for a bridal shower, housewarming or hostess gift.
