Unless you're collecting items hoping they will be rare examples of defunct companies, don't buy this.

Canary is on its way out of business due to their recent marketing scheme to charge customers a hefty monthly subscription fee for every device.

The mount works fine this is a canary real one be careful there are other cheap plastic mounts out there that they are selling on eBay and Amazon for like $18 made by Wasserstein co. don't buy those plastic and they don't lock spend the extra money and get the real one from canary .

Must add when purchasing the Flex. Being able to position the camera at essentially any angle makes it worth the $25. Mount base is very easy to install with just a couple screws.

The Canary Flex comes with a really cool magnetic base that you can set on a surface or mount on a wall. But I went ahead and got the Secure Mount because it's more secure"”you can screw the Canary Flex into it. Both types of bases have swivel feature so you can angle the camera however you need to.

The wireless feature on the Canary Flex is perfect for my use (away from the house and electric outlets). The app alerts me when battery is getting low so I can bring in for a quick and easy. Even though it screws in to the secure mount it comes with its own hex wrench for unscrewing to take inside, which is pretty easy.

The device, this extra mount and the subscription are worth every penny. The quality and all of the features and controls (the app is awesome!!) are even more than I hoped for. I love that all of it is constantly accessible on my phone.

I have it mounted on a tree in my front yard with the secure mount. (see pictures) No one will notice it there"”but I will see everything! I'm going to get another to stick it on the back of the house to know if my children are headed out toward the barns or farm machinery areas where I don't want them playing. Also, to know why my dog is barking at night, etc. I live out in the country and need to be able to monitor my property for trespassers, escaped livestock, package delivery, and every other reason you'd have for wanting to know what's going on while you're away or asleep.

I received the product sealed in the box but after opening, without even attaching the mount to the wall and without attaching the Flex to the base, the mount broke from the base. Not very secure when the base separates from the mount in your hand.
