Both my boys love baby first and the color crew. These are great. They looked a little small in the picture but are perfect sized. A little taller than my own hand length and just very plush and soft. I saw previous reviews saying that you couldn't replace the batteries when they died. It seems they have changed the design. There is a little Velcro slot that holds the voice box. Upon arrival I had to take out the voice box and pull the little plastic tag to start them functioning. The all say "Hello I'm _____" in different voices with different enunciation. From time to time the voice box has gotten jammed but it's been easily fixed by a little harder squeeze or taking the box back out and readjusting it. Would recommend them to any kids that love the color crew.

I paid $20 which is a lot for me but worth it because my daughter's hard to make smile. if you have a child with learning disabilities like autism or anything like that these are a very good learning toy along with the show itself to learn colors.. these are super soft to the touch like that baby blanket type material...

This is a note to the person that designed these and had these Commission.. next time you make these .make sure you make them where you can put new batteries in them when their voice box goes out. Without having to rip the seam & Sew up this toy .. where maybe you can switch it over to Spanish.. because you can't change the batteries once the voice box goes out unless you rip it open and sew it back up... that's the only downside to these things .

I need the missing colors my kid is pissed! But good toy. They talk. Sizable.

Update: they survived the washer once even!

Update 2018 The crayon design has changed. These aren't child safe anymore. They have a big Velcro hole that my kid loves to open and try to get the voice box out. This is super irresponsible and I'm very disappointed. I would've ordered a second set of them if I had known that this was not the same product that I ordered the first time.

They arrived in a clear bag to my surprise which has been convenient to carry them around since my son loved them at first sight. The first few times he squeezed them to talk they were barely audible which I enjoyed because I could use a break from his loud toys. I was expecting it after the reviews but after the first few squeezes they adjusted and were louder and clearer. Yes they only say their names and that's fine. My son watches the show with toys in hand chatting away it doesn't bother him he loves repeating them. I don't see how I would change the batteries once they die out though. I believe the price is fair because there's not a lot of color crew merchandise around despite the show being on for years.

My four year old is on the spectrum and he LOVES Color Crew, so he was delighted to receive this toy. They are cute, and appear well-constructed, and I was actually thrilled that they are not very loud.
The package arrived on a Thursday, and he played with them Thursday and Friday. He spent the weekend with his grandparents and we didn't send the crayons with him, so he spent the whole ride home on Sunday talking about his "Color Crew friends" that were waiting for him.
When we arrived home, the yellow crayon was no longer working.
He does not have the ability to understand why it isn't working, and he is completely devastated. The return process is too long and involved, so we just ordered a whole new set. It is going to be a very long two days.
Reading the Babyfirst website, it appears this is not uncommon. If he wasn't already so attached, I would not be purchasing this product again and I hope that someone can learn from my expensive lesson.
