Not airtight. I placed water in it and turned it upside down. Water all drained out. Looks good and works easily, but don't expect it will keep things fresh for long.

I have purchased this because I like the one-handed, air tight canisters idea. This one goes one step higher on the ease of use angle. Where the others on the market have a circular pop-up button, this product has a clear handle that flips one way to open and the other way to close. The handle idea makes it even easier to get the top off, especially when your hands are wet and slippery. I use the 7.5 size for my flour, rice, and powdered sugar because I can reach in with a measuring tool.
