I ordered these socks to wear with muck boots in the winter. They are nicely made and soft. They kept my feet warm as long as I was inside an out building. When I had to spend short amounts of time outside on cold snowy ground, my feet got cold within five minutes. I did not recover the inner warmth that was lost being outside even after going inside. I found that they were equivalent to wearing cotton crew socks. I'll be sticking with wool socks or thicker alternatives.
