Great belt for the gym, not for adult competitive powerlifting
Amy✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 24, 2018
I gave it 5 stars, however this is NOT an adult competition belt by any means nor did I expect as much. This belt is perfect for gym use to include some moderately heavy weights. I got this for my boys to use just starting out in powerlifting and being thinner than a specialized power belt it has the flexibility while providing enough support for them to perform their competitive lifts in the youth division. With that said, I will upgrade their belts when they get into heavier weights. As far as construction goes it seems to be made well and should hold up to demanding use for years. My young lifters are 10, and this belt is perfect for them, and I would believe this belt to last them for years, or until they grew out of the size. If you are looking for a serious competition belt for powerlifting then you already know Inzer, Bob's etc make the belts you need for meets, especially if you are lifting/pulling over 400 lbs. I really can't say anything negative about this belt, it will do all I need it to do right now. These are just my opinions and my expectations, and this belt may suit others beyond what I rated.
Belt is solid: Sizing options could be more varied

The belt came in surprisingly of better quality than I could have imagined. The only issue, which really isn't the manufacturer or belt's fault, is that for people whose waist measurement is a 33 or 39, they would have to go to a medium or large and use one of the tightest settings possible - giving no leeway room to lose more weight. It really isn't a big deal, however, in the future if there could be some overlap between waist sizes, OR take smaller increment jumps and have more size options, that would be largely beneficial.

*I have had the belt for a week so far, will return in a month or two to see how it holds up.
To give y'all an idea of the amount of stress I am placing on the belt, my best powerlifting meet numbers are 584, 386, 635 and my buddy who is also trying out the belt (not as often as I am) has numbers of 623, 441, 722. We are both in the 198/205 lb weight class. I understand that the belt might have been a beginner belt, but this will test the qualities!*
Quality belt for lifting

I'll start off by stating that I am a licensed physical therapist in Arizona. We have a sports performance program at our clinic where we often do power lifting exercises. We recently had an influx of high school athletes and needed more weight lifting belts and decided to go with these due to their good reviews. There are definitely some cons with the belt but it is very well made.

Pros:
- Thickness: The belt is thick and is very sturdy which is great for the amount of weight that some of these kids are throwing up
- Durability: The material is well chosen and has the look and feel of a good belt.
- Strong buckles: The belt has a good buckle which is the usual issue that I have with a lot of belts, as the support weakens if the belt is loose
- Weight: the weight doesn't feel cumbersome but also doesn't feel too light. A lot of belts are a little too light and don't give off the feeling of support when wearing it which can affect lifting mechanics.

Cons:
- The belt is stiff and takes a long time to break in. It took us about 2-3 weeks to get it really broken in.
it was kind of funny! It's thick and well made

This weight lifting belt is solid. It's very strong, the double buckle does the magic, it's hard though it came straight in a big long box, it was kind of funny! It's thick and well made! My husband wears 36 38 and it fits him perfectly, the metal part seems solid and good quality. It's easy to put it on and adjust, you got to suck it up and adjust tight. You feel it right away the difference if you never try a belt like that. It does help a lot.
Great belt for the price!

This power lifting belt is a great choice for us. The sizing is just right and comparable to a belt my son was fitted for but was three times the price. This is his first belt and it was a smart choice for us. At first it was over stiff but as other reviewers mentioned, it gets more flexible as you use it. My son sweats a lot so maybe it helped speed the process. The stitching and color were very nice. It looks very professional and the double prongs feel more secure. I like the security of having a one year warranty but we have had it a month and I don't see any issues arising.
