This item is a 4 star bath toy and a 5 star regular toy. Any little toy that has a teeny tiny hole will trap water inside and mold. I LOVE these animals and use them with my 10 month old as we read books. We play peekaboo. Practice animal sounds. She practices patting them gently. Kissing them. Hugging them. She chooses the animal out of a group. We count them. She puts them in the little container. She shakes them and makes them rattle. We put them on the edge of the bed and knock them off and see them fall down. I say "Oh no! Ouchy!" to help her understand falling. I can see her playing make believe with them when she's older. They are the perfect size for her hand. Easy to wipe down.
I had a set for my first and ran a few thru the dishwasher and they melted. NOT dw safe! Also, you get an extra of one animal. I'd like to have a rhino or a snake as I have books about those animals.
I wrote a similar review for the farm animals, the jungle animals give you 11 animals plus an extra while the farm animals give you 10 animals and 2 extras. These are very, very cute and I could see a toddler only needing a few more things to complete the perfect toy collection!!
