Wasn't sure if this was a Fitbit for our Doodle or a tracker and was pleasantly surprised that it was both and much more. For our evening walks, we use the light function to illuminate the path as we walk and then spring into action to log his fetching activity. It's worked out really well and the new software update makes a huge difference where we had some difficulty connecting to him depending on how deep in the woods we were. The features are super helpful and the design is really slick & high end. The sizing was a good match for our 45 pound Doodle and we're going to get the Extra Small for our Maltepoo once that's on the market. Great stocking stuffer for the dog lovers in our family and worth every penny.

This device is perfect for what I was looking for! I have been in the market for a smart collar for some time now, and while I have done a ton of research on everything similar that is on market... this one BY FAR is better than the others, so I decided to pull the trigger. I have a small dog (12 pound Dachshund/Chihuahua mix) who, let's just say is a very curious one and seeks adventure. This means that he tends to sneak out from under us at times so the GPS function was the highlight for me... but I was so pleasantly surprised by all of the other functions that come in handy too. The remote light/sound function is AWESOME since I used to go and buy bicycle lights to attach to his harness when we went camping lol. Alerts for temperature and if he is away from 'Home Base'... also the Adventure function is a fun tool to use when we go to new parks and explore. It is easy set up and easy to understand, very user friendly. Another note is its size... I was worried a little bit about the fit and if it would be too bulky since my dog is very tiny, but it actually fits him quite nicely and doesn't bother him at all. For what it is, the actual 'smart piece' attaches right in and is pretty compact. Very happy and would recommend to anyone that has an adventurer on their hands!!

I received my dogs collar a few weeks ago. Impressively package and engineered the collar offers the flexibility I need. My dog, a chocolate lab is in the water at least five days a week. I moved the tracker unit from the rugged, attractive leather collar to my dogs water collar. This flexibility is a great feature for us. The 'electronics' of the unit are very impressive as well.

The collar tracks my dog's location on a close to real time display on a cell phone app. While my dog is not a huge roamer it is nice to know I can find her when she does stray. The light on the collar I find is very helpful for locating her quickly when I let her out at night. My neighborhood is very dark at night and this feature is probably my favorite.

If you have used a conditioning collar to help train your dog you will enjoy the 'sound' feature on the LinkAKC collar. While the 'sound' is different than that produced by my dog's conditioning collar she responds to it similarly. So it's a great plus for giving 'corrections' in your dogs training.

I am a big FitBit person and the activity tracker built into the collar works great to provide me with the insight I need to keep my dog's activity level where it should be. The algorithm the collar uses to calculate activity delivers a precise value base on your dog's breed, weight and age.

The temperature alert is also a great feature especially in the warm weather. Dogs in cars is a concern to me and most responsible dog owners. The alert let's you know when the ambient temperature reaches a threshold that you set. There is a setting for high and low temperature thresholds.

There are other features that I have not used including an away zone or safe zone that lets you know when your dog goes beyond a user designated boundary. I have talked with technical support and found them to be responsive and helpful. I might also add that when my dog goes swimming the tracker unit is submerged as it usually rotates around to the under part of her neck. I have had no trouble with the fresh water. I have not yet taken her to salt water which will happen later this summer.

We love our Link AKC collar! My favorite is the "adventure" feature. I love that it follows exactly how much ground our lab covers and how much he gets out of his play dates. Even though he doesn't run off, he does tend to wander when he is off leash, so the location tracker comes in handy. I would say this is a MUST BUY for anyone that has an escape artist. Also, I the extended sizes are much appreciated. Our guy has a 25" neck and frequently wont fit in a large. The XL fits him perfectly! Overall, a great purchase for those of us that are dog people!

I got the Link collar b/c I like to take my dog on off-leash adventures and thought this would be a great way to keep track of my hunting/herding dog, who runs giant laps around me and likes to explore. It took a little to get everything set up and synced (user error), but once it was online I was excited by the capabilities. It's like a fit bit crossed with find-my-iphone, with all kinds of cool things like mapping hikes by time/distance, nightlights, unsafe temperature alerts, and other stuff that I probably haven't discovered yet. The tracking unit is on the larger side, but my 36-lb dog didn't mind - wouldn't recommend for a chihuahua, though. I only wish I had this when she was a puppy - she got out, and we thankfully found her a few hours later, but this collar makes sense for escape artists and pups who are in unfamiliar environments. Totally cool, and would recommend to any of my puppy-loving friends. Oh, and the leather collar is as nice as it looks.
