so like another viewer said I based my purchase because of ...

My husband and I just bought our first new couch ever and don't want to have anything happen to it so I read about this Scotchguard stuff, so like another reviewer said I based my purchase because of the wonderful reviews and by the way when you review something, the review should reflect how the product works NOT if it was delivered on time or if you didn't get enough for you furniture. It's not fair or right to give it a 4 star when it did it's job but the company you ordered it from didn't get there on time, that should be a review entirely separate to the company. The product is what you reviewed.
Ok back to review. We just got our can of Scotchguard today and my husband sprayed the couch he said that when you spray, the pattern that comes out is real thick instead of like a regular spray can would spray like a fanning out instead of a solid line. I believe that's why some people run out quicker because of the way it sprays out and because of the way it sprays out you don't need 2 or three layers of it you only need the one because it's so thick already. When my husband got finished with the couch he still had a little bit left and he is very meticulous so he sprayed every inch of the couch. As far as the fumes, you definitely need the ventilation please please make sure there is lots of it and put a mask or anything like a washcloth or T-shirt or bandanna on you face because the fumes are very strong and I will update in a month or so if it works in stains but my mom has scotchgarded furniture and it worked fantastic. Thank you again for all the reviews because they made my decision to buy this stuff. I will update soon.

If you get it on wood, like I did, grab a magic eraser with dish soap and hot water and get scrubbing. Took me awhile to get off but it came off. Followed by furniture spray and it looks fine. I put the scotchguard on my upholstered chair seats. I put 3 coats because I have a toddler running around. So 1 can gave for 3 coats on 4 upholstered chair seats and 1 coat on a fully upholstered chair. I bought another can so I can finish the 2 fully upholstered chairs and 2 more upholstered chair seats. I put water on the treated chair seats and it beaded up and so easy to wipe off.
Used on sofa. Works very well. Make sure to properly apply.

The media could not be loaded. IN SHORT: the product does the job. Make sure to slowly apply coats. Wear breathing mask or do it outside.
I bought 2 cans to treat my sofa. It arrived well packaged. The first time I apply the product, I only used a quarter of one can for the whole sofa. My first test with some water was unsuccessful: the couch absorbed the water right away.
I went ahead and apply the coats in long sweeping motions. I ended up using 2 cans for my sofa for a single coat. The water test was completely successful, the water runs off the sofa.
The color and feel of my sofa remained unchanged before and after the application of the product.
I purchased 2 additional cans for a second coat. When you apply, think as if you're "painting" the fabric, not just spraying air freshener.

We just bought new furniture and wanted to protect our investment. I saw a few other reviews stating that they used 2 cans of this on their couch and it was perfect. I ended up buying 3 cans for the couch, ottoman, and loveseat. It ended up being the perfect amount. I used approximately 2 cans on the couch and 1 for the loveseat and ottoman.
The water test was amazing. I put a capful of water on the furniture and watched it roll right off.
