My husband picked this out and I was uncertain if I would like it. I love it! We put the rocks in and they look great in our contemporary room. What great ambiance. We get lots of compliments on it. What I love it that you can turn just a light on the rocks and not use the flame. This is nice for a summer look. The rocks can be lit in many different color options and the flames have several color flame choices as well. I love white light rocks and blue flames. Very modern. I predict we will use pink flames for girly birthdays and Valentines Day. Green rocks and flames for St. Patty's day. A more traditional flame in the winter. THe theme in our room is Notre Dame so we can even do green rock light and blue flames. LOL
We haven't used the heat much but from what I have experienced, I would not consider it a heat source. I don't notice much heat even when sitting close to it. Perhaps I didn't have it turned up high enough?
It's a great piece and I would recommend for ambiance in a room.

Building a fireplace wall to mount our tv and although not finished yet I can see this thing adds some real character to the room. Of course I fit it into the opening I framed up and plugged it in to test. It looks awesome for an electric fireplace and the little logs and clear stones that come with it add a very nice touch. We've had electric fireplaces before in other places we've lived but this one sets a new standard. Very pleased with it, can't wait to finish the wall.

I have repurchased the new and improved PuraFlame. I am really enjoying it! It's a beautiful fireplace and it keeps our space very warm and cozy. The new pure flame also includes small fire logs which are very catching to the eye. Everytime we have guests over they are wowed over it. They always comment on how beautiful it is. We just got ours 2 weeks ago and we love it. It was very easy to install going by the directions and specs. You must follow the specs to frame it. We did a rustic looking media center/fireplace. The colors are cool.
