This is actually my third attempt at buying privacy film for my windows. My new house has 3 larger windows above a window seat in the dining room and I did not want to put blinds there that might get messed up. The first I tried has adhesive, kind of like contact paper, however, the circle pattern looked like dirty fingerprints, it was also very thin and kept tearing and trying to stick to itself. The second looked like blinds, however they were only 17.5 inches wide I could not piece the pattern tightly enough together to not get a noticible seam. This pattern I was able to order in a wider width so I did not have to try and piece it together to make it big enough to cover my 22inch wide vintage windows. The flower pattern is actually beautiful to look at and really does look like stained glass so it adds to the decor rather than screaming "PRIVACY FILM". It is kind of difficult to peel from the backing film but it is nice and thick and sticks to the Windows really well. I used the Gila window film kit and an extra squeegie and was able to get a perfect, bubble free installiation (this may be due to having done this a few times already)
To apply, using the Gila kit:
With regular scissors, cut the price roughly to size of the window and remove the backing, you want it a little bigger than the window.
Spray the window with the Gila Spray and apply the film smooth side to the window obviously, try and get two sides flush with the edge of the window and the other two to have the overhang be trimmed.
Use the plastic yellow Gila smoother to smooth the film and press out any air bubbles, take care to press the edges, especially the ones with the overhang.
Use the green Gila trimmer to cut along the corner at the edges to remove the overhang. This works best if the overhang is 1/4 to 1/2 inch, if it is skinnier then it will not cut as cleanly
Spray more of the Gila Spray over the top of the film and remove with the small squeegee to ensure there are no small bubbles left behind.

ETA:: I just used the last of the roll to do an extra window and discovered that a microfiber cloth, 6 inch metal ruler and cutting blade were inside the tube.

This was exactly what i was looking for for bathroom glass. It looks real nice inside and out. The only thing i wasn't happy about it, you can see the silhouette thru the window at night when bathroom light is on in pretty good detail. However its still PG, i'd prefer it be a bit more burred. I give it a 5 instead of a 4 because it was enough to do 2 windows, it does create privacy and light comes thru during day. It is beautiful as well

I recently bought some "Artscape" window film from Home Depot and loved it. It was very easy to put up and looks beautiful. I decided that I wanted to put up some privacy film on another window upstairs. I thought I would try looking on Amazon for a cheaper buy when I came across this product. I can honestly say that this was an absolute disaster. The film is not nice at all. It's very thin, looks cheap and extremely hard to peel the backing off. After about 10 minutes of trying to peel the back off, I passed it to my husband to see if he would have any luck. Needless to say, he couldn't even get it started. It should NOT be this hard to peel the backing off. Absolutely ridiculous and I can't believe the good reviews people are giving this product. I ended up throwing the entire roll away. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. Pay a little more money and get the good stuff. It will save you time and frustration. Good luck folks!

I bought this film for privacy (creepy neighbor issues). They arrived on time, and were nicely packaged in hard plastic tubes. I've purchased window film in the past so I'll have to admit, I didn't look at the instructions. The included razor blade and tiny ruler were a plus.

First, I measured my windows with a measuring tape. I cut the film with good scissors, leaving about 2 inches each way. Then, I cleaned the window well with glass cleaner. After it was clean, I lightly sprayed the window with more glass cleaner. The clear plastic backing was a royal pain in the butt to separate from the film (I may have cursed a time or ten) but after that, it was smooth sailing. I put the film on the window, leaving excess on all 4 sides, and smoothed the bubbles out. I used the included ruler to press the film as close to the windows edge as I trimmed it to fit (I lightly slid it along the edge, razor blade following). I'm not sure if that was what the ruler was intended for, but it worked great to get a nice fit with no mistakes.

I'm very happy with the end results. My windows are beautiful, and completely private now. Would definitely recommend.

Bought it to cover our bath room window from sunshine, which is really annoying. This film helped a lot. It's pattern and colours let just enough light to enter the room. For the size, is a good deal. The window has a different size and shape than the roll of film, but the pattern and transparency helps as a guide to cut it to the desired pieces to be juxtaposed without having an ugly transition. I used an sprayer and water to wet the surface before installing it to help me with the repositoning. A glass cleaning squeegee was used to flatten and get rid of bubbles.
