This bowl is a great value for the price. Arrived in weakly done packaging, but it held together long enough to get to me without shipping damage. There is an orange powder paint that was used to highlight the pattern and etching. I put the bowl in some soapy water and with a brush almost all of the orange pigment washed out. Bowl still looks good without the orange stuff. Tone is loud and sound is excellent. Some small scratches and scrapes, not from shipping, as if the bowl had been stored in slightly rough conditions. A great choice for someone that wants a big functional singing bowl, is OK with it being a little rough around the edges, at at a good price.
